I have two Win98SE computers who, while on a small in-home network, do not actually log into the network outside of a DHCP query. How do I disable that damned user login screen on system boot (whats the point anyway, there's no password needed)?

Those effects arent too hard at all, if you would like pm me and I will make you one like that Janus. Just a combo of 3DSMAX and Photoshop.

Now of course it wouldnt look exactly the same or it would be copying, but I can get the same look with different shape structure.

I think there's a setting in control panel-->users that can disable that...it either shares the accounts or gets rid of it completely...don't have a win98 box to check though :(

i think he's refering to the dhcp login diag and not really the windows user prompt, in that case i can't remember how to disable it because i had the same problem awhile back, i just remember after awhile it stopped asking me for the login prompt.

try no password? login w/o a password, if you have a password change it to no password in the passwords boxy thingy in the control pannel, log out, and just take your old password out, and that should fix ya up

The sig was made with this (photoshop plugin) (sorry DestroyerX, I don't care enough about sigs to deal with 3d modeling software, hehe):

I've tried no pass, but I haven't tried tweakUI. I'll try it soon.

Well what you can do is right click network neighborhood and then delete the "Family Login" or whatever it is. Delete anything that looks like a hand holding a computer or whatever that is (i'm too lazy to look)

It won't pot up anymore, and you can still see the other computer i belive, been awhile sine i messed with 98

How do I disable the user login screen on system boot?

TweakUI or X-Setup (my personal fave) (http://xteq.digitaldaze.com/downloads/index.html#xset) will do want you want.
