yea there was similar incident in the flyers/rangers game on saturday. somebody hit downie and his skate came up and caught they linesman in the face. he was bleeding pretty bad and i think they said he broke either his nose or jaw.

The cool part of that was that 3 fights broke out right after this happened and the other refs/linesman were tending to the bleeding linesman and there was chaos on the ice for a few minutes.

malarchuk was actually florida's goalie coach until not too long ago.

they said zednik could be back on the ice in 6-8 weeks, although florida probably isn't making the playoffs so he probably doesn't return until next season.

I read in the papers this morning that doctors said his injury was never life threatening, which is good to hear because it looked so bad.
