3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.

I lived in CA for awhile and the Mexicans I met there were some of the hardest working people I've ever seen. They do the long hours outside in the 95 degree weather that most other people won't. Maybe I'm biased but I think they are a net benefit overall to our society.

Plus they built my house in SC. And talk about skills. I watched a team of 4 of them sheetrock my entire garage in about 20 minutes. Unbelievable.

Give me 3 white guys I know that have worked with drywall (and not professionally mind you) and myself and we can do a garage that fast too. All you have to do is put the shit on the studs and screw the screws in with a drill.

That article is horrible and *it* doesn't address much of the information given in those statistics.

For example, it cites the Sacramento Bee in drawing skepticism to the population growth of illegals as it pertains to California, but fails to address every other state mentioned as well as the national estimates.

You are the one that should check sources before posting and regardless, we are debating something: illegal immigration.

As far as why I care? Last I checked, this was the United States, not the Independent States. What affects border states as well as more populated states, such as New York and Illinois, affects both our economy and bureaucratic dollar.

Discussing immigration is not the same as posting stats from a chain e-mail, what EXACTLY is it you'd like to discuss.

If we had the fair tax it wouldn't matter if someone was illegal. they would pay taxes on consumption and have a motivation to become legal to get the pre-bate.

I just don't understand why immigrants 50-100 years agro (and some still today) came and refused to speak their native tongue at home so their kids would be fluent in english and now I have to press 1 for english or it defaults to spanish.

Learn english people, it isn't that fucking hard. Whenever I goto a country I atleast try to learn the basics of the language.
