My TFC was working fine for years....I got a virus from the great myspace and had to bring my computer to be restored to it's original state like when i first bought it....I installed a new graphics card be4 any of this happened.(ATI Radeon 9550) When I got my computer back, I loaded steam,HL all that good stuff to get my tfc back. Now somethings not right...I donno what it is, but my tfc laggs like no other...sometimes it's really bad where i pull up the score screen with tab and it stays up for like 5-10 seconds after I let the button go. If i find a server thats good enough i'm ok but it doesn't take long be4 my mouse starts lagging and i can't even bhop or HH. I've updated my drivers, updated directX...I've asked everyone I can think of who might be able to help me and still nothing has worked. I'm willing to try anything to get my TFC back to normal so I can play again.

I donno if this helps, but i re-dl FF and i keep getting a engine error everytime I try to join a server...someone told me to switch to 800X600 and now I can't even open the splash pg ..so I can't even play that.

Sounds like a graphics driver problem maybe, seems to be tied in with you installing a new VGA.

Sounds like exactly what i said yesterday LOL. Run a hardware test on that gfx card. I know my new nvidia drivers suck ass, and took me a while to smooth shit out... but sounds like gfx.

You said you were willing to do anything...

I suggest selling your soul, that would probably get the best results.

If that's way too extreme, I would probably just get a new video card, as you said 6 years old. Quite ugly.

try getting the latest drive from the ATI web site

this is the link to latest XP driver for your 9550
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp

try that and make sure if you have a selection to turn V_Sync off make sure its set to OFF V-Sync always killed my graphics in TFC.
