predictions / discussion on the card???

I cant stand serra for a lot of reasons. Me and some friends got some plans to watch it at a bar and got a feeling the whole place is gonna be rockin for serra considering hes from long island and has two gyms around here.

The guy hasnt defended the title in almost a year as far as i know... (i know he was injured and was on the ultimate fighter too), and the dude uses footstomps which i think are pussy as hell... plus he brings the guinea long island persona the rest of the country hates about new yawk to the table. I cant wait to see gsp rock em... i just overall like gsp and his fighting style better: gsp round2 ko.

lutter vs franklin... doesnt really matter cuz iam assuming winner gets rights to anderson silva. and we know franklins track record against him.

some other good fights on the card too.

thoughts???

I'm hoping GSP beats the hell out of him. I don't know why either Lutter or Franklin would fight Silva when they both just lost to him. Florian maybe.

GSP will DESTROY Serra. That last match was a fluke. GSP is better than Serra in all aspects of the game, with the exception of Jujitsu. With that being said, I don't see Serra being able to take the fight to the mat. If Matt Hughes can't take him down, no one in the welterweight division can. Shit, he actually out wrestled one of the most decorated wrestlers in UFC history. I'd be surprised if the fight goes past round two.

The card kind of sucks compared to other recent PPVs, but I'm still planning on watching it. I'd take Franklin over Lutter.

On a side note, I'm really looking forward to Rampage vs Forrest. I'd love to see Griffin come out with a win in that one, even though I love Rampage. Also, Fedor and Tim Sylvia are going to fight in July. I fucking hate Sylvia; I hope Fedor kills his big goofy ass in the ring.

Also: Wanderlei > Jardine (Utter destruction...)

GSP takes it. Guys an animal and comparing his last so many fights he's made some major strides. Not too amped about the card and it seems like the last main one was 2 months ago so I kind of expected more as I've built it up. That said what looks so so on paper can be awesome in the ring.

Watching GSP out-wrestle Hughes and Koscheck was pretty impressive. He doesn't really have a soft spot and is very well conditioned.

Then again, Serra got some very hard and accurate punches in early on and GSP could not recover. I'm expecting Serra to test GSP's chin from the bell. GSP can win this easily if he remains as technically sound as he was in his last 2 fights, and uses his speed and kicks along with his reach advantage.

I don't understand Starnes' reasoning. I don't know if he had a massive injury or threw the fight or what but that was a pathetic showing. Still can't wrap my head around it. There must have been something going on unless he really has no heart to speak of.

I like Serra a lot but had a feeling GSP would come out and dominate. Good to see he's the champ, hope he holds on to it for a while.

Fitting end. Re-stoppage in the 2nd round because GSP was dominating Serra the entire match, and basically had him pinned on the ground delivering knees to Serra's face.

GSP is such an amazing fighter. He and Anderson Silva are definitely two of the top dogs in the UFC right now.

We fell down on the floor laughing when the guy crossed his arms over his head and started swinging with the one arm sticking out after he had to chase the retard around for 3 rounds. That was fucking funny :)

It was funny for a second, then I remembered how much of a waste and disappointment the fight had been and I wasn't laughing anymore. I better not see Kalib Starnes in the UFC ever again.. ever.

Doh! Thanks for the correction! That's what I get for having split screen - DMC4 on one screen and GSP vs. Serra on the other screen :\
