View Full Version : what sensitivity do you use?

Neuro

default 5.0 :O

Res

Neuro, default sensitivity is 3.0

The sensitivity really depends on the windows setting and if you are using a optical mouse or ball mouse.

I used to use a ball mouse and used a sensitivity of 10.6. Then I got a optical mouse and now use a sensitivity of 5.0.

Hmm I have some L337 Microh4x optical, i've been using 5.4 sensitivity for some time now. I switch to 5.3 every once in a while just to feel L337.

Question altered from: What is your sensitivity? To:
On one left to right motion of the mouse on your mouse space, how many screen rotations occur ingame?

For me, it's 3.

As has been said 108273924972654329804 times, it is dependant on too many factors to make any discussion worthwhile.

Sensitivity 20 and rotate 15 full turns within the width of a normal mousemat...eek, no wonder im shit with my shotgun :D

Defrag
March 17th, 2003, 08:26 AM
MX500 / XP / Maccel off / Win sensitivity up 2 notches from default / 7 in HL.

I have my mousemat short side across, and one sweep of the mouse across the pad makes me turn 720. Afx: your sensitivity is crazy :P

Since Neuro posted saying that vsynch + mouse filter can cause your aim to spack up, I removed vsynch and my aim seems a lot better. My HL also feels like I am moving about 2x as fast with vsynch off and 100 fps - it's like a different game or something.

I have my sensitivity all the way up in Win XP (I have a optical mouse of some kind *shrugs*) and I use 25 in TFC

PS. Just barely moving the mouse makes my do turn completely around

March 17th, 2003, 09:48 AM
sensitivity 4.8-5.2(depending on the weapon because Im odd like that) and there are special cases like I have 13 for melee weapons always

mouse=logitech mx 700, I can do 3 turns by quickly moving my mouse from one side of the pad to the other

Hey Defrag, how do you like the MX500? I've got one of the first generation Mouseman Opticals (the blue one with bright blue light up logo), and have been thinking about replacing it with the MX500. Anyone care to comment on the weight of the MX700 along with if the IR conn makes it seem less responsive?

No skipping, very comfy in my hand (took a while to adjust to it, my pinky kept on trying to sit on the top rather than in the side groove) - I couldn't recommend it more. It won't skip at all.

As for the MX700: I've heard it's just about as responsive as the MX500, not sure about the weight, though. I'd buy one (MX500) :D

i on the other hand, have used both and prefer the explorer. IMO when comparing these 2 mice, check out only the prices and the comfortability of them since skipping is practically non-existant in both

back to the thread: sens - 1.24 goes around 2 times when i swipe it across (big mousepad though)

I'd buy one (MX500) :D both the 500 and the 700 are heavy as far as a mouse goes. but thats actually because there is a weight inside. one of my CAL-i friends reccommended taking the weight out. he said it was easy and all you needed to do was pop it open. i would also reccommend you get a 500 instead of a 700, so that you dont have any of the wireless woes.

um the sensor position is a bit off, but I actually prefer the rate, and actualy the wireless part transmits 120x a sec, same as usb, I havent noticed anything since I've switched over

*edit Im talking about my mx 700, both 500 and 700 own, you can't go wrong either way just don't install mouseware :( edit*

personally have used both, mx700 is not only the best mouse i have ever used (have tried them all) it's weight is heavy to the point where u wont fly your mouse all over the place, but light enough so it doesnt feel like your moving a brick...it takes about 6 days of constant use, no recharging for it to go dead, and takes aobut an hour to recharge when it goes dead

best mouse ever, dont waste your money with the mx500 (great mouse still) go straight to the mx700 and pay the 20-30 extra, it's worth it, in not only saving batteries, but performance and comfort (bigger mouse, for guys with bigger hands, fits more snug)

sens is 1.3 and mouse mat from right to left turns exactly 90 degrees.

zoom sensitivitiy is slightly lower around 1.1 i think.

its great for aim but sometimes it can be annoying on movement, like throwing flag behind u. But you get used to it after a while.

i use a mouse ball mouse, cant use opticles. Basically, i pick the mouse up really REALLY fast, and move it back across the mouse mat. with an opticle mouse, the laser thing still registers when i pick it up slightly so i cant use one of them.

i can turn fast, like, 180 degrees aint a problem, cuz i only need to pick mouse up once and move it, its when im playing HW guy or something and some cunt starts circling me. Thats when its hard.

March 18th, 2003, 10:55 PM
13.2 -> rotations?

i try to keep my sensitivity the same for all games, so its easy for me to get used to stuff. i cannot stand lower sensitvities, i feel like i'm stuck in honey or something.

I use the 700, and i love it, fits my huge hands and the weight seems right to me. I also had that old blue mouse, and i am glad i traded.

As far as lagginess in the IR, i have not experenced any, and my batteries have never run out, (1 hour chanrged lasts about 2-3 it seems). Just stick it in the stand when you sleep, and it wont run out.

*edit*
oh yea, i use 2.0 2.2 sens in HL, default win 2k settings, no acell. I think i do 1 and a half turns going across the wide part of a normal mousepad. Only part of aiming i have trouble with, is when people go over me (as any medis thats played me on trench seems to know, damn bastrds)
