A young lady returns from college, and tells her father that she is becoming interested in politics.
“That’s nice, Sweetie, and tell me, what party are you leaning towards?”
“The Democrats! I want to help the downtrodden, make life better for the unfortunate people that society passes by.”
“Well, your mother and I have always been proud of you, and respected your decisions. The fact that you are doing so well in school, shows that you have a handle on things, by the way, what is your grade point average now, 3.8?”
“4.0”
“That is real nice, and it reminds me, how is your roommate Sally doing?”
“Not so good, dad. She has kinda let her studies go, and seems to always find an excuse to go partying. Her grade point average has slipped to a 2.0, and if things don’t change soon, she may flunk out.”
“Well, Sweetie, why don’t you go to the Dean, and ask him to raise her grade point to a 3.0, and lower yours to a 3.0, that way she can stay in school, and you are still doing ok.”
“Dad!, That’s crazy. I worked hard for my grades, I put in the time at the library, I turned down weekend day trips, I sacrificed and applied my self, and you are suggesting that I just give away a whole grade point? Why should I give up something I worked hard for, to someone that didn’t put in the effort to achieve on their own?!”
Her father looks at her for a long moment, and says….
”My Dear, welcome to the Republican party.”
teh funny :)
