I'm lloking to buy a new mobo, and was wondering if the Asus P4S533-X was a good deal.
Supports P4 processor which can reach 3ghz. 2 ddr and 2 sdr sockets supports 2gb. 6 USB ports, 6 PCI slots, 533mb between north and south bridge. AGP 4x. All for $76

that or you could always spend $50 more and get one of the new 800 mhz supporting mobos, u could always still use a 533 cpu if u wanted, but the 800mhz ones are kickin ass from what i have read. all depends on ur funds.

lol, yeah so I'm not 16, my funds are pretty small :P I was looking at one of the 800mhz ones that was around $120. It seemed real nice, but all the reviews I read for it were "board sucks" or "board kicks ass". There weren't any in between. I think I'll just go with this board since I've read some good reviews for it.

I found 2 great deals in the paper, but I can't decide what to get.
I can get a 2.4ghz P4 on a ECS P4VXASD2 mobo for $160. The mobo has 533mhz FSB, 2 ddr and 2sdram dimms, 4 pci, 4x AGP.
The other deal is an Athlon XP 2200+ on a FIC AU13 mobo for $140. 400mhz fsb, 3 DDR dimms, 8x AGP, 6 pci.
I couldn't find any feedback on eiter of them, so help me out, eh?

Yeah but you see, these both come with really good processors. I don't have to buy a P4 or Athlon XP seperatly like you would.
