ive been playing tfc with the same system specs for over a year now adn all of a sudden today 6-21-03 it just freezes after playing so long(5min approx.). it freezes to the point that the sound that just so happened at the time it freezes keeps looping over and over. when this happens i cant do anything..i have reset or turn off my computer. it didnt do this yesterday and i was playing for 5 hours straight ;p. now all of a sudden it does this ;\

sys specs...
AMD Ahlon xp 1600+
ASUS mobo
512mb pc2100
gf4 ti 4200 64 mb
60 gb maxtor hd
win 98 first edition
soundblaster live

idk whatelse u need to know but i just wondering if its bc of overheating maybe or what?

o ya...all drivers are updated too.

check the fans in your computer, one probably isnt working.

all fans are working ;\
cpu fan
vid card fan
power supply fan
and another little fan idk wtf its for but its working too.
when i opened the case it was pretty warm inside butidk if thats normal or what ;\

well i would find a program to see what your temperature of your computer is.

not sure what the athlon running temp is... but 59 is way too hot for a p3

it could also be the vid card overheating.. you overclocking?!

vid card is brand new...well i got it just before xmas ;\
and nothing is overclocked.

also...i dont keep my pc on 24/7, i turn it off at night. idk if that helps any?

ok i figured out that it was my video card..POS!
i put my old gf2 mx 400 in and it ran fine no freezing at all.

another question though ;p
both cards are made by PNY is this a shit company that puts out the card? bc since my gf4 is retarded im still gonna want a better card than my gf2 for the newer games coming out, i.e. hl2, doom3 etc.
just wondering which i should get and what company?

PNY is a great company. If you recently got the card give their tech support a call and maybe they'll hook you up with something new.
