What do you think? Is it better to have a higher sensitivity when playing HW, or a lower? Or do you just use the same sensitivity that you use for everything else?

I use 3 for everything, thats because my mouse is very fast (Logitech MX700).

I use 5.5 for everything bar demo at 7.
This equates to something like 540 degrees for a sweep across the pad. Low sensitivity helps a lot for HW conc aim as you know how much you have to move the mouse to turn a certain distance... just sucks a bit if they get in close and run around you repeatedly :p

our hw uses real low, and kenny owns.

Windows is at the 7th click.

Mouse accell is off.

I use fov 100 (yes fov makes your sensitivity feel different) and sensitivity 7.

8 for everything, 1 noth below default sensitivty in the mouse properties located in the control panel, I also have the mouse_fix.reg.

June 22nd, 2003, 04:16 PM
22 sensitivity works for everything, for me.

20 sens on everything, about 4-5 complete spins with one mouse sweep.

June 22nd, 2003, 04:46 PM
# of your sensitivity is irrelivant.

I complete 1.5 spins in 1 sweep of the mouse... but my mousing area is huge so i don't need to sweep often.

I use the same sens for everything, but the lower sens you can get used to, the better.

June 22nd, 2003, 05:22 PM
umm the above is wrong

what mouse accel does is higher your sensitivity by how fast you move your mouse. its an XP add on. So if you move your mouse faster the higher your sensivity goes. You could have 4 sensitivity and be able to get 6 full spins if you move your mouse fast enough. what the mouse_fix.reg does is keep the sensivity the same no matter how fast you move your mouse.

you can get it here http://members.cox.net/spid3rman/mouse_fix.reg

just click yes then ok then reboot. it will feel like your sensitivity was lowered a lot, and it only works with XP. Not win2k

ROFL WHAT SENSITIVITY IS THAT?

Some people like mouse accel, but I hate it. It essentially introduces a new element to aiming. Rather than moving the mouse a constant distance to turn a certain amount, you have to move the mouse a certain distance within a certain time with mouse accel. I typically find this makes your aim suck, but some people actually like it.

I use 3.5, which means when I move the mouse across the entire pad, I do a 180.. pretty low sense but I like it that way, on the odd occasion I do play hwguy I prefer slower mouse movements.

3.5 rotations across the mouse pad

i actually use 2 different settings. it depends on where im playing

If im playing in an 'yard' area like mulch_trench ill use higher sensitivy cause the situation calls for it. need to quickly track concing medics + posibility of being circle strafed.

areas like top of spiral in 2fort(my most fav spot :)) ill use a low sensitivy cause theres just no reason to have a higher one.

Each to their own ;p I quite like it, mainly because I am lazy and just being able to play without moving my wrist at all, and also find it very handy close up fighting.

I got the same setup - cept i use 11 now :D

9 for everything, with 100 fov. bigger fov actually increases your sensitivity, there's a multiplier or something attatched to a console command, i found it once, but didnt mess with it.

as for mouse acceleration, win98 also has it... i don't mind it. i've messed around with it in the mouse seetings of the control panel. i use it at medium acceleration. it's not too different from mouse accel off. but better. depends on what you're used to, and i'm used to the mouse accel. and as for rotations... uhh... i dunno. can't really count anyway, i dont use a mousepad, go flat desk.

Trackball operation is different to a mouse, so not that in itself, but using a trackball on a desktop is certainly strange!

ROFL. I can't believe people are still posting numbers...theres not way to compare them, so they're useless. They're all going to be different, so don't even put them!

I use the same sens for all classes so I dont unbalance myself. I use a medium high sensativity and have great control with this logitech optical mouse. Higher is better for me mostly becusae I have less room to use my mouse, so I have to use short movements.
