Patch

Ok, i have had this problem for like the last 4 months. Ive tested all my hardware.

Hard drive test - MAxblast did the receritifcation test - PASSED
Memory - memtest86 - PASSED
Burn in test - Passes all tests

I have done the following things:
1) changed via drivers from ones on the mainboard cd to the newest ones
2) changed video drivers from 28.xx to newest

The problem is im always locking up, sometimes in windows, sometimes in games. This problem is hard to track because it does it so randomly. My question is how can i pinpoint the problem.

Post your specs, it could be you just don't have the hardware to do whatever your doing. Also, try closing background programs (like AIM, mIRC when you're playing TFC etc) sometimes it just takes up too much memory.

could be a bad stick of ram u try to RMA it? and 256 isnt a lot of ram actually to be running on XP, even though u said that u regedited some of the programs that run out, maybe one of them that is still running is causing a conflict.
