View Full Version : An odd question about "chasing"/OvO

I know that offense vs. offense deathmatch is frowned upon in a lot of the servers I play on. However, I've been doing something "just for fun" on pubs.. I tail the offensive player back into our base, but I don't shoot him. This is pretty funny, because they end up unloading their ammo into me, and then getting fragging by one of our team's defenders.

Who's wrong in this situation? Me, or the guy who shoots me? Or both?

That guy is wrong for shooting you... offense vs offense... not chasing b/c he's not heading back towards his base. Still talking league rules here...

You are not at fault - you are not blocking their offense, nor are you attacking him or hindering his objective in any way.

He is in the wrong for shooting you. You are not in the wrong technically, but you're basically useless to your team (unless you value your distractive abilities highly)

It's a pub, rules don't exist unless it's a server like phat farm or something.

Christ, you want rules? Head over to [GoW]'s server. I got kicked for going uover to the top spiral where an enemy way, just because someone from my team was already there. Hah!

HA! I was there the other day...and I'm pretty sure there were no rules in effect...potshotting, ovo dming in the monkey yard, 4 guys at the front door...Odins went downhill after they allowed HW Offense. There's no way to take rules seriously when the fatman is D on one run...and the next he's mowing down your defense...

*Edit: Yeah. He's not wrong, and you're not wrong, but expect to be shot. I do that too; the e-thugs seem to fear someone staring at them. Must be the NY-TFCers that do it. I love New York, some of my best friends are Yankees. I will take NuclerKittens smiley faces as acknowledgment that I was just playing.
