For some reason my in-game voice com has gotten VERY bad. I'm using the latest driver for the SB Audigy and nothing on that end has changes.

This pretty much started when I tried a config that was supposed to make it better but all it did was end up making it worse. I've since went back to my original one but it's still screwed up.

Here is the one that screwed it all up for me:

voice_loopback 1
voice_maxgain 33
voice_avggain 12.500
voice_scale 11
voice_fadeouttime 0.100
voice_profile 0
voice_showchannels 0
voice_showincoming 0
voice_enable 1
voice_dsound 0
voice_overdrive 21
voice_overdrivefadetime 0.400
voice_recordtofile 0
voice_inputfromfile 0
voice_modenable 1
voice_clientdebug 0

And this is my original one. But like I said, it's still garbled. Anyone have any ideas?

voice_loopback 0
voice_maxgain 5
voice_avggain 0.500
voice_scale 7
voice_fadeouttime 0.100
voice_profile 0
voice_showchannels 0
voice_showincoming 0
voice_enable 1
voice_dsound 1
voice_overdrive 2
voice_overdrivefadetime 0.400
voice_recordtofile 0
voice_inputfromfile 0
voice_modenable 1
voice_clientdebug 0

Delete your config.cfg (or at least back it up) then start HL with absolutely no configs in your /tfc/ directory. HL will generate a default config, then go and see if it works OK.

If it does, keep adding things back from your config until it fucks up. That's what I do when my config gets messed up and it works quite well. :)

I had the same problem, it's the line 'voice_overdrive 21'. Try putting it to 1 or 2, cause 21 is waaay to high. It will make ingame sounds almost imposssible to hear wher you're talking.
