I need to know if there is a way to tell if the mobo is v2.0 or not just by looking at the board itself. I want to buy one from someone but the first version of the board doesn't work properly with a GF4, only the second. I will be buying it soon and any help is greatly appreciated.

The mobo isn't installed, it's sitting in a box ata lan. I need way to identify by looking at it. I can find no pics of the mobo big enough to read the writing on it, and I checked damn near every hardware site I could...

Do you mean a 7vrxp? The writing on mine is... /me opens case and looks inside..

For my 7vrxp, it says "REV 1.1" just underneath the model number, between the gold-colored FSB heatsink and the ram slots.

Note that I had mine technically upgraded to a 2.0 by RMA'ing it. All they did was add a resistor.

You can see where this is by going to this site and clicking "zoom in" on the flash movie thingy: http://www.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/Products/Products_EnlargeView_GA-7VRXP(2.0).htm

It's a 1.1, and from what I gather it won't support a GF4...

Yeah, you need to get it RMA'ed for it to work correctly.

Before I got mine RMA'ed, I had to underclock the 2100+ to 1500+ speeds (by leaving the FSB switch on the mobo at 266 rather than 333 mhz) and even then, anything 3d = spontaneous reboot.

Something about GF4's using more power than the 1.1's support, or something.

I'm using a GF4 4200, btw.
