Unless Powell goes back on what he previously said, apparently he will not be returning to serve as Secretary of State for 2004. Anyone else worried that the only non-crony in this administration, will be gone and replaced with...James Baker? Sigh...

Remember that Baker, among others in Bush Sr.'s administration (Sowcroft comes to mind), rather publicly opposed this administration's handling of Iraq. Of course, Baker helped steal the election for Junior down in Florida.
Colin Powell isn't returning for '04? That's weird considering he probably could have been President (I think Chris Rock pointed this out in '96). It doesn't even matter. Rumsfeld already acts like he's Secretary of State.

Colin Powell will never be President cuz white people ain't votin' for Colin Powell. Say they are! They are not. It just seems like the right thing to say... White people ain't votin for Colin Powell cuz whenever you see white people on the news talkin about Colin Powell they always give him the same compliments: "He speaks so well", "He's so well spoken", "He really speaks well". What did he have a fuckin stroke the other day?! He's a fuckin educated man how the fuck you expect him to sound ya dirty mother fucker?! "I'ma drop me a bomb today, I'ma be Pres-o-dent!". Speaks so well... speaks so well isn't a compliment, speaks so well is some shit you say about retarded people... that can talk!
All that rambling is pretty much verbatim (minus the sidetrack on organ donation) of the segment of Bring the Pain (which I have memorised pretty much verbatim) to which Cain refers. Just cuz I find it amusing :) And because I occasionally enjoy contradicting Cain even if it is on an irrelevent and petty point. He said Colin couldn't be prez, not could.
K carry on.

Are you sure? In fact, I think Rock contradicts himself. Earlier he talked about how all the other candidates offered Powell the Vice Presidency. "Why should he run as Vice President if he can be President?" Then, if I remember correctly, he says there will never be a black Vice President because some black guy will just go ahead an assassinate the white president. The assassin doesn't have to worry about serving time because he'll be pardoned by the new black president.
It doesn't really matter. Colin Powell is viewed by the Washington Press corps as an untouchable. His leaving will not help the public's perception of the Bush administration.

You are both correct, those are both Chris Rock bits.
And I think Colin Powell would be more widely accepted as a Presidential/Vice-Presidential candidate, than the more recently touted Condi Rice.
