a very weird situation

okay this 'very weird situation' has to do with:
1. My wireless mouse
and
2. My paper shredder
okay so heres the deal:
everytime someone comes into the office and shreds some paper in the shredder, my mouse locks up(weird aint it!?!) and i ususally have to restart, but sometimes i can revive it. but whats even stranger is that sometimes my entire comp freezes. im not sure if this is a power issue or some extra terrestrial force(har) but it just buggs the hell out of me.

Random guesses, not necessarily correct:

1) Poor wiring in the room, when the shredder runs, it messes up the power flow to your computer.

2) The shredder gives off a shitload of EM which somehow fucks with your computer

I'd consider #1 more likely.
