i bought a refurbished monitor online, a dell 21" trinitron, and its good except the color is like a faded green so when you see the windos xp screen saver of the logo on a black bg moving around, the bg looks green instead. i've tried to adjust the color settings on the monitor but can't get it right without blowing out the other colors. i'm not sure what else i can do so is there anyone that can help out?

Check your printer cable, make sure there isn't any bent pins in it, That can make color messed up.

Depending on your vid card, you can adjust your display colors that way. When I was at CPL I had to have my vid card correct the bobo monitor for being waaay too green. Look under your video card options to see if its possible.

you could try installing the monitor drivers. does dell not offer a 60-day warranty or something?

I don't mean to be starting a theard within a thread but you guys mentioned something that I currently have a problem with. My red channels are gone/leaving :( (I'm not some huge tech dude so dont mind me if I say something stupid :D ) Well for instance, the catacombs for me, they're a dark brownish color, not green. :\ My reds (255,0,0) are just a tiny hint off of black, making red text with a black background impossible to read. Yellows are a darkish yellow, greens are yellow, etc. Oh, and I don't know why, but when I open my monitor OSD, and check out the RGB settings, they're all maxed -AND- the red on there is actually red, its weird. :|
