Catacombs Owners Selling Out?

I have been apart of this forum since Spring of 2000. And I always loved the way this forum has been presented to the TFC community. Being lead by people like Kastro and Lich behind the scenes and the hosts that run the forums.

It has come to my attention that Lich and Kastro are thinking of selling or might have already sold the rights to the catacombs to Evil69. PWNZ.NET ran the show for the catacombs and they did a great job. When PWNZ.NET closed house PointBlank and Mike (Redman) decided to pick up the tab and host the Catacombs for FREE. PB and company has spent so much money on the catacombs but continue to run it for the good of the Team Fortress Classic community. Lich imho is basically just slapping Mike and PB in face and in words of many SELLING OUT to the community and the catacombs. Evil69 only wants this forum to promote his own business and when he sees that in this point in TFC his business will go no where he will run hide and we will have nothing.

My thoughts are about Evil69. Anyone who knows this person knows he starts big projects but never EVER finishes them. He wastes his money (supposedly) and trys to make something big for TFC. But what always ends up happening? He brings the hopes of many people up (staff he hires) then disappears without a trace. It is known Evil69 has always wanted to make a news site with the calibur that the catacombs holds. Hell I even was on his staff for a while cause I bought into his "talk" about the future and what he wants to do. He will buy this forum build a bs site not finish and leave trust me. (arenawars?)

Why am I making this post? Cause I want to see this forum live through the best times of TFC and the worst times if it comes to that. I don't like Evil69, I will just say that. And people who have been stabbed by him in the past and know his rep for what he does can probably agree with me if their still around. I care too much about TFC to see this forum, the glue in our community go to waste.

So this is a plea to Lich and Kastro, do NOT sell this forum to Evil69 just cause he can make you a site. PB is doing just fine running the forums and so forth.

I would like to see the thoughts of the community on this issue. Who woudl you rather have running the catacombs honestly ask yourselves this. Someone whos in it only to promote his own business and then only to see him leave? Or PB who has kept their word on keeping the Catacombs up for FREE for the good of TFC.

ya i would hate to see the cats go away, its just as much a part of tfc as teh game itself is, to me at least. I used to read the forums before i even played in leagues. Dont sell it, if there never is a site, then so be it. People still like to post. Just keep the cats "undirtyfied"

Well, i dont post a whole lot on tha tfc drama board we like to call catacomb fourms, but i have to admit its a big part of tfc. personally i love tha preds, shit is tight heh. Basically i dont know evil69 but last thing we need is some 1 thats gonna kill this thing. Little to noone actually gos to the catacombs looking for a site, if you make one and leave the catacombs there will be no big rise in hits, most likely a drop infact.

I should not have to defend myself like this, as you are all talking off of incorrect statements made by SonGoku. Ironic, because he's against lifting peoples spirits and crushing them, but he's ok with frightening you all.

I assume some of you are wondering what's up now that I have an op in #catacombs, so I'll tell you:

In a couple months from now I'll be setting up the site area, aside from the forums. The forums will NOT change, the forums will NOT move, the layout will not change, the url address will not change, the forum leaders will NOT change. Nothing is going to change for all of you catacombs fans. Catacombs is still going to be Catacombs.
I'm simply adding on a front site, like it use to have.

Oh, and since I'm apparently so EVIL! I'll be hosting public run servers for the community and also renting private ones at dirt cheap prices. ~$30/month for 20 player servers. Wait til you see, I'm only helping out tfc here, disregard whatever slander has been reported about my past.
My intentions have always been to help the game I love, and they will remain that way.

Usually when you make such a big accusation, you find out the whole story rather than base your entire case off a rumor. You are a role model to all the aspiring dipshits acrossed the globe.

My information comes from the people who are in the deals that are going down. It's very accurate. This isn't a rumor. By Evil69's post hes already started. He even told me PB wouldn't be hosting the catacombs anymore. But go ahead think everything will be fine leaving the catacombs in his hands if this deal goes down. I have nothing else to say.

To start off...^^That quote is complete bullshit. And for people that don't know. When we had our CTlan, we all met Goku and knew from the start he was the best at servers in TFC. Even though he likes Rap, He is cool and knows his shit :P.

This is not made up information about the Cats. Evil is interested in buying the cats and to be honest, who wouldn't be from a buisness point of you. When pwnz went under, we took the hosting job as we wanted to keep it how it was. Hell, none of PB were admins even after we hosted it, which was part of our deal. My goal was too make sure it was up and running since many of us are also rooted in TFC and enjoy the forums. I have known about this for a week now. Crash and Direhit also knew but I asked them not to say anything. If this had gone smoothly, I would have given the db and everything assoi. with this site over as the site is by right owned by Lich and Kastro as long as the transfer came thru me and none else as the boxes are my PB owned. The reason why Goku got mad is because he was approached.....which I then got a beep on my work phone..and then it started from there. I told Goku to post what he though because I was also mad because it was going to turn into a problem. Do not blame goku as he is just posting his thoughts andhe has the right. If you want to blame anyone, you can blame me. I also wanted to see what people on the forums think. I have a good idea of it now..

Also, I don't know your intentions Evil but I hope they are good. I am also one of the people that have been here a long time. (HLDM anyone?) I hope you prove us all wrong.

Goku. You sir are in fact misinformed. No offense meant. But what you think is happening is not happening.

The Catacombs is alive and well. You will all hear from Lich and Kastro soon. It is being sold as a complete site, including the forums. However, it is not being sold to Evil69. The Catacombs is being sold to Point Blank and GBC. Point Blank will become the primary owner, and GBC will help to operate it. Lich and Kastro I think are tired of trying to keep this going and very busy with far more important commitments. Who can blame them? The Catacombs has been theirs for a very very long time. It has seen its good days and bad ones. They have done a tremendous amount for TFC, and that will never be forgotten for some. I don't want to speak for them. Lich and Kastro can tell you all whats up and im sure they will. What I will say is that Point Blank and GBC are going to work very hard to keep the integrity of the Catacombs intact. So to those of you in a panic over Evil69 taking over, relax. And to those of you now in a panic because Point Blank and GBC are going to run Catacombs in the very near future, for what its worth: We will do our utmost to follow the vision Kastro and Lich laid out.

By PB not hosting it I meant that I would be hosting it on one of my servers, just a move. I even agreed to sign legal documents saying I would not alter the current catacombs at all, only add a front site too it.

Probably because the forums are on his damn server and he set them up. If you even know Crash you would know its a rarity that he even visits these forums or posts on them.

Here you have many people that are up in arms over something that hasn't been running for months now except for these forums. Most of us get our info from other places beside http://www.thecatacombs.net

Believe it or not, but if this domain name does happen to die, it's not going to be the end of TFC. We will still continue to go to the leagues and their forums for the info that we want, as well as other places that I'm guessing most of us visit each day.
