Gun contrl in the U.S.

As a Canadian I am just curious about your gun control laws. Who qualifies to buy a gun? How hard is it exactly to get one? Ect... If someone could shed some light on this for me I would really apreciate it!

if you are over 18 you can buy a gun. it is also dependent on the states. Most anybody can get them after the 6th month background check in california. as far as carrying them around in texas i think you can walk around with a gun being shown in public. Also there are laws on concealed weapons (hand guns/small semi auto guns). but to sum it up its not hard to get it legally and even still easier illegaly

I was reading about the Arkansas shooting and it said 14 yr olds could have hunting rifles but not handguns, is that correct?

personaly they should start enforcing the laws they already have and stop adding new ones.things would be soo much better then.

But a lot of places don't do background checks - it's just a checkbox on the application to get one. Who in their right mind is gonna check that box if they want that gun?

Who made up the rule that there is no need to own hand guns?

Some people actually enjoy just using them. Say for target practice. It's can actually be quite fun.

Just because there is no societal improvement or continuation of existence need does not mean there is no need.

The only people gun control will affect are the law abiding citizens.

Now don't get me wrong... There should be some gun control, but not to the extent that many liberals want.
