Well I seen alot of topic about wanting better fps.
I downloaded the default models and resized the textures on the models to be a max of 128x128.
New models used a 512x512 texture, its now 128x128. Alot smaller than before.

New models are at the max res already. Old are not though.

If my gl_max_size is already set at 128, will these models make any difference?

Yes because now the game wont have to use extra resources on sizing down the textures.

It would almost be pointless to do to the Toon models since they are double the polys of the default. If you want a fps improvement delete those.

Thats a glitch caused from Milkshape. I get the same problem with most of my models/conversions.

can someone make some reduced poly old models? :)

if they did, it would help FPS a massive amount, since Half-Life transforms and blends every vertex itself, with no hardware acceleration.

Thats smoothing groups, no matter what thos will be applied. Hell even Quake 1 had it (which is the engine HL uses, modified though).
Although 1 question, the TFC models are low poly enough, the min requirements were a 133 cpu. Onboards can handle 800 polys.
