Its just recently started happening and it happens at random times, but I get "this Opengl mode is not supported by your video card" all the time now i have to keep trying until it finally works.
I reinstalled vid drivers and then installed dx9 to try and fix the problem but no luck.
Please help:/

This is another case of GIGO. Please specify the following:
Video Card Specs
If its integrated, what type of Mainboard do you have?
Are you using a Factory Build computer (i.e. compaq, dell, hp, etc)
List your computer specs
Then we can help you.

It ran great for a while, then i started getting random reboots when starting hl then i updated drivers and reboots were less frequent then i got opengl error a few days later so i updated drivers AGAIN and installed dx9 and im still getting error:/

What version drivers are you running? You may want to try the newest ones if you aren't running them, and older ones if you are.

I had a 670kb opengl32.dll file in my windows\system32 directory and a 220kb opengl32.dll file in my halflife/gldr dir so i copied the 670kb one over the 220kb one and it still said opengl mode not supported by video card
BTW I installed billdoors opengl hack the one that makes being conced look like being on acid(not a cheat) shortly before this crap started happening. BUT i just replaced my gldr opengl32.dll with the one in my windows\system32 directory:/

didn't read the entire thread, but plz don't mess with your bios, I have the same problem sometimes and I'm on a win2k (sp 3)machine with gf3 ti 200... I beleive my board is an intel p4 1.8ghz with "261,596 KB RAM" lol.
I just got the opengl mode bug recently too, but I just treat it like the "cd key in use" error... restarting fixes it for me :)

ONLY go in your bios and play around if you KNOW what your doing!

Actually after flashing my bios, reinstalling dx9 then reinstalling vid drivers then changing my opengl32.dll it seems to be working fine, only time will tell though.

try this...this 'sometimes' work for my lan and sound card....turn off ur comp..unplug it(to be safe), open up the case, take the screw holding ur vid card in(after taking the cord going from monitor to card off) and pull ur card out, then plug it back in, then put the screw back in, plug ur comp back in and boot it up, that may help.
Do u have an AGP slot? or no?(i donno cuz u may have one..but just using a PCI card for sum reason?) If you do..look around in ur Bios for something like "Primary Graphics port" i got one and i can set it to AGP or PCI...maybe ur's is set wrong?
