Trying to figure out where to set the bitrate in order to have the best comprimise of quality/file size. Any suggestions? Right now I have a 640x480 video that's like 1 minute 10 seconds and 40MB. Need some compression help :|

Use XviD :( a little over 2000 (I think that's what I used for kabuki's avi, don't remember)
I'm not really an expert on compression :/

I've heard anything over 1500 bitrate in DivX is useless but I use 2000 just to be on the safe side...I think most people use 2000 too...

DivX compression since recent update outdid my up-to-date Xvid codec in size and quality. As for Bitrates, my first avi was at 900 and everyone complained, I suggest 2000 if u want a small avi, and 3000 if u want top notch quality.

--1000 = Poor
1000-1250 = Decent
1250-1800 = Good
1800++ = Excellent

i disagree with that... i do my original render at the max (4000) and then downsample from there, and i've noticed a difference even between, say, 4000 and 3000, not like a world of difference but there is a faint jpeg effect.
