K, so I had installed (ahem!) MS Visual Studio, and needless to say it didn't install correctly and bad things happened. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and the problem still persisted. Is what happens, is when I boot up, my desktop shows, but no icons or toolbars come up and I can't dp anything for about 7 minutes. This problem also happens when I try to run IRC, Winamp, and Win media player. I have done things like defrag, scandisk, cleanup, Registry cleanup, removed spyware, shortened my msconfig program starts and downloaded new updates to win98se (my os). I think it is an explorer error of some sort that delays it, but it is not a virus (or at least no virus detectors have picked it up). Suggestions/comments?
