patriot is right and it doesnt seem like they really want to even make an effort, just makes me sick what some of these guys are making and there still crying, as an example chara just signed a 2 year deal with the sens for 9.5. They seriously need to do something about stuff like this. The best player(s) should be payed 4-5 million maybe max and go down from there imo.

Or maybe the best players should be paid whatever someone is willing to pay them

It's looking pretty grim right now Vr. The owners and players are seemingly no closer to a deal than they were at the end of the season. Most NHL analysts predict the best case scenario being a february start or something like that.... anyways it looks very bleak for us hockey fans :(

Fuck you FightClub, Hockey owns. As far as the players and the owners it's way off and it's not looking good, I'm gonna miss my last place Penguins :(

Well, too be honest its very bleak indeed. Look...I blame the owners more then the players. The owners are putting up the money to sign players for far more then what there worth.
If u cant afford em...DONT SIGN THEM. The owners are completely dumb. I like the basketball salary structure. I think thats the key there needs to be a cap cuz the owners dont know what the fuck there doing :(

shane doan, brett hull, cale hulse, daymond langkow, paul mara, ladislav nagy, sean o'donnel, mike comrie, mike ricci, andre nazorav, dave tanabe, brian bucher, to name a couple.
oh, and JR. jermey roenick, a fan favorite who might come back to and retire a coyote

They need to induce a 2 million dollar/player a year cap. If you can't live off of 2 million a year and still want to cry, look for a new career, it'll make the game affordable and keep the people playing for the sport in the game.

maybe a little more than that, but yea that should be the case for all professional team sports.
