shipp out for the season hurts even more =(
im sure they'll still pass the ball, but mccown's INT's will go up a lot without boldin to throw to.

Getter done, Corks :D
LOL thx man haha :)
yea ok guys this is what we got so far for cards
all pics are in
injuries are as follows:
Boldin out 8-12 weeks
Shipp out 8-12 weeks
Dexter Jackson is day to day
bryant johnson 2 weeks (be back second preseason game)
there was a intresting article on dexter about how he was hurt, and now has lost his starting job to someone by the name of quientin harris. I think it will be a matter of time before he starts (FYI i just bought a white dexter jackson jersey w00t)
im so fucking pissed that boldin and shipp are out my once prediction of 7-9 9-7 has changed to maybe 6 games. It can change depending on the recoveries of boldin and shipp.
IT will be intresting to see if Fitz can step up, and McCown can get him the ball and cary the offesne. RIght now those two are not clicking and are not on the same page, hopefully they will get there, Bryant johnson is gonna half to step up big time.
the Defense is looking nice. With betrend berry at end he is a dominant force that should help the cards Defense of line look like more than a pop warner team. Also with docket and king on the inside it should make for a intresting season. Our corners look pretty good also, with starks finally back from injury and the aqustion of macklin from the colts, we should finally not get burnt every other play. Also we have renaldo hill who is a play maker and is always in the right spot. Then u have the up in comming star of Adrian wilson, he reminds me alot of darren woodson of the cowboys, i think he will have a break out year, full of big hits and INTs. And of course lets not forget my man Dexter jackson, dirty J is gonna be starting week 1 and will have another break out year just like last year. Our D almost looks respectable this year.
lets all hope for no more injuries except for the people on the cards schedule keke j/k .....

i'm not trying to nitpick, but i thought a player could only have one break out year :D or maybe i just have a different definition of a breakout year than you do.
i think i'll be rooting for the cardinals however this season to do well as i have fitzgerald on one of my fantasy football teams so i'm hoping he'll have a nice rookie season. it will be interesting to see how well green will be able to turn around this team this season, although i think green will probably need at least two more seasons to turn this into a respectable team.

theyre going in a good direction though. its about time too.

eon i think he will do as good or better so i get where u are comming from.
yea cards are finally heading in the right direction, and it is about time. They will be making a run for the SB in 2008, might be the first team to have home field advantage in the SB.

I think Denver is going to miss Berry, While I hate them for getting rid of him, I'm also glad that we have depth at the posisition with Reggie Hayward (i think he had 8.5 sacks last season and didnt play the whole season) and we also have Raylee Johnson a proven vet. Good luck with berry Cards' he is getting up there in years and I wish him the best. hopefully he stays injury free, I would love to see another productive season out of him.

pre season doesnt mean anything...
mess fitz did sprain ankle, but nothing serious.
and yes i hope bery has a productive year, we need someone who can get some pressure on the QB. He has some pressure on the QB, but no sacks.

Pre-season does mean something, just not in records or stats, it helps you evaluate your backups in case of injury filled years. As I recall the Pats and Panthers both went 4-0 in the pre-season last year.
Vr_
August 15th, 2004, 06:28 PM
yeah, im sure it will hurt worse when the texans beat the cowboys in the regular season.
cool, im glad weve now established that the vikings backups can beat the cardinals backups.
and the texans backups can beat the cowboys backups for that matter.
and its funny, when i said last year that pre season helps evaluate players for the season you all got pissed off at me. :( meanies

want to explain why not?
you think the cards will be in the SB in 3 years? they have a long way to go as it is. they havent made the playoffs that i can remember in my lifetime (maybe i just have a bad memory) of 22 years. theyve been taking 1st round draft picks forever and havent ever done anything with it. they might have green as coach, but 3 years is too ambitious.
Vr_
August 24th, 2004, 01:30 PM
actually 3 years isnt that bad. like you said, their 1st rounders havent done much. but now greens coaching them. recently green cut 10 guys from the roster, including some names that people thought would be starting for that club. i kind of like his message: no matter how much you make if you dont step up you could lose your job all together.
manegment is also trying to make a case for calvin pace, i think it was. he was starting before camp, then green demoted him to backup. now hes a pretty highly paid backup, so you could see why the front office is trying to get him in... but if he doesnt play like a starter and if we wont get anything out of him for the rest of his 4 year multi-million contract maybe its time for a trade?
so really its not their fault they select the 1st rounders they have and hardly got anything out of them. when they were drafted they probably though 'ok, well im going to be starting and making alota money for a team that wins only 4 games'. i think green is trying to get them to think "ok, well im going to be starting and making alotta money for a team that wins only 4 games. but im dedicated to helping turn this team around and playing my heart out"... and right now i dont think the players are seeing it that way and thats why Az fans are so pissed. we take some pretty good prospects in the draft but they dont do shit.
cards went to the playoffs and lost vs the vikings in 98.
will they make it to the superbowl in 3 years, nope. playoffs in 3? probably.
edit: they also added d’marco farr as a D line coach. so the d line should be getting a little better thru the years. (you probably remember dmarco from The Best Damn Sports Show Period and the 2000 Rams, super bowl champs)

thanks to dennis greens illegal workouts, we now have pete kendall :)
Vr_
August 24th, 2004, 01:50 PM
dont you find that a little funny that players from a 4 win team bitch about having to work a little harder this off season.
and pete kendall leading the bitching, he was the last person on the team i, or anyone infact would think would bitch about anything.
it shows not only his dedication to the team, but the dedication of others that were with him.
so thanks to denny green, we give a good riddance to pete kendall. also hope you can stay helthy for one team at least
Platypus
August 24th, 2004, 02:05 PM
well, besides the fact that he didn't miss a start in 4 years for seattle and then had to go to Arizona, he had all the right to bitch. He's going to be solid for us, and it really helps the depth chart.

August 25th, 2004, 02:01 AM
u know what take that fucker, i dont really care, he is old and overpayed. We will just be fine where we are, as long as people stop getting injuried that is by far the biggest problem this year. If so many players werent injured on our team i would say that we have a good shot at the playoffs. but now i don think we do.
Vr_
August 25th, 2004, 04:48 AM
wasnt az's fault he couldnt stay healthy. maybe his fat ass couldnt stand the sunny 110` heat and liked the rain better. who knows. but he knows the situation az is in and if he doesnt want to buy into winning then by all means have fun with him. you dont see emmitt saying anything, and hes like 50 and been in the league for like 30 years. hell i bet he was at every one of those 'illegal workouts' 30 minutes early too

As bad as the Cardinals are, they will always hold a place in my heart. The way they fucked over the Vikings last year, with no time left on the clock, on the last play of the regular season...It almost brings a tear to my eye.
Fuck you Vikings.

ha, your running back core actually got worse with this trade.
Vr_
September 1st, 2004, 02:19 PM
i dont think anyone really cares about the trade. after smith retires its going to be shipp, DA and either scobey or croom. i think fans favor shipp and DA over habrick any day.
but it does add debth this year. emmitt is emmitt, he could get hurt or he could have a decent year.

that sucks, kasper was pretty good on special teams.... was also really productive this preseason, i think he lead the team in yards receiving.
im sure he'll get picked up soon as a specialist
CoRkY
September 7th, 2004, 10:09 PM
i dont think he is a big loss at all, and i dont think he was a good specialist. ok wtf how is kasper such a great special teams player? because he dances in the endzone? because he runs it back to the 25? if i remember right scooby took his spot because there were times were Kasper could of ran it back if he followed his blocks, he stinks good riddance...

The cardinal O was terrible. All those turnovers and nothing to show for it. Being a 49er fan i wanted them to beat the rams but the cardinals seem to let me down week after week.
Vr_
September 13th, 2004, 05:59 AM
lary made some pretty nice catches. same with johnson. emmitt didnt have a bad day either, if the line does that every week theres nothing wrong with 87 yards and a td.
but like you said, all those turnovers and nothing to show. they'll have to work on that and get into the red zone a little more.

the weather was AWESOME too! perfect football weather. a little windy but cloudy, a few sprinkles here and there, not to hot either.
hopefully they'll get their shit together in week 3 but vs mike vick its really doubtfull. hes going to run circles around our d... hell, i bet the falcons can put him in at safety and he'll still get 3 picks. =\ our bid red line needs a big red pink slip ASAP
