Since I'm whoring this forum. I figured I'd start a thread what your first band, or people you used to play in garage with. My first band was during post grunge days. So I was in a little grunge band semi punk coverband I played guitar with my best friend as the bassist, and some kid that went to school on drums. We wrote really bad lyrics..

Blindrage. RAWRs...
Played in my garage, 1981-83; played out three times in two years. Covered most styles (of the time), did tunes by the Scorps, the Who, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, the Ramones, Michael Schenker, Billy Squire, Ritchie Blackmore, hell we even did a Harry Nillson song. I sang, and played three chords on two or four songs...
Wrote three original songs, I have the only remaining recordings.
(Sample if you dare! (http://www.veekachu.com/images/blindrage_the_problem.ra) - keeping in mind that these were recorded in said garage, directly to a cassette by a mere two mics)
The drummer was definitely a monster- he just blew us away at every turn. However I think I alienated him once when we played out, refferring to him as 'The syncopated ape'- he was a big fellow... things were cold after that.
The real bitch was that he went to school to be an architect, and that's what he wanted to do- he forsaook music to follow that path. Oh, and my GF and I broke up for a spell, and then she started dating one of the guitarists... we got back together, but the whole scene was fucked up. They threw me out finally, and then dispersed for good a couple of weeks later.
Our biggest problem tho- we hated the egotism embodied by many of the other local musicians that we knew, and tried to go entirely the other way. We were humble to a fault, and lacked that "we RULE!!" confidence, which is why we only played out three times!
So, two important lessons- it's ok to have a bit of grit and pride in your abilities, and the whole "Bros before Hoes" thing is only a cliche BECAUSE it's TRUE!

My friends made a band called "Hat3 Iris". It was quite funny, the singer was real good freinds with people in the music scene and got invited to open up for this band at CBGB's in NYC. I feel like i was the mascott that night. I was getting everyone wild and forming a mosh pit.
Not to long after that the bassist decided to exsplore wrestling, so I ended up taking his place. It was fun to play where ever we can, freinds basement, my garage, and once in a while we rented a studio.
So thats my 1st and only band i played in. I havn't had a chance to play my bass in 4 years :(
I have a tape of songs we all made up, one day I'll get them on my computer. I have some cool pics too :)

SaW
Smurfs Are White.
We had like 5 or 6 Korn style songs, then we thought "this is gay" and quit.
I played drums.
Edit: Our genius idea was to keep "SaW" a secret and not tell people what it meant when we made it big then see if anyone figured it out.

DMHP, of course! My first and only "band." ...But classifying it as a band is a stretch. Random Easy Riffs + Poor Recording Quality + Unintelligent Lyrics = Win! Eh, I get a kick out of writing bad music :D (Well, some of its okay at times, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally) It's in my sigline.

wow nearly identical man lol.
I played guitar and sang my best friend at the time was the bassist and we got some fag kid at school we didnt even really like to play drums cause he was the only kid we knew that played lol. We did a lot of Nirvana covers etc and wrote REALLY bad songs with REALLY bad lyrics. I think one song was called like "black hole" or something it was awful.
