Band: Hella
Description: 2 person 'band' that plays purely instrumental except for one song. It's not the usual stuff though, the drumming and guitar is very chaotic and it's a bit awkward. I can see why people would get sick of them, it's thoroughly understandable but I just love their really weird sound.
They have an extreme talented drummer by the name of Zach Hill, he's one of my favorite drummers. I saw him open for Sonic Youth and he played his entire set with sticks of driftwood he found on the beach. He doesn't just use standard drums he uses suspended metal pipes for various sounds (on some songs) and garbage cans. Extremely talented player.
Edit: Uploading the first song by them I heard, will update when I put it up.

Actually, I found it interesting. Not something I'd listen to again, but I didn't hate it. The drummer was good.

Pretty amusing band, this is the first of their music that I've heard. Are you familiar with the guitarist's side project? He plays the drums in a Nintendo cover band called The Advantage. You can listen to some mp3s of theirs at http://www.theadvantageband.com/mp3/. They have an album out with much cleaner production, but you get the idea.

I agree. Since I know you (Thrash) like Primus, I can see why you like them as they are sort of similar in sound. Eh, they didn't really do much for me though.

lol, they are no where near Primus's sound. At all. :p
By the way, I was aware of the guitarist's side project, but I hadn't gotten around to listening to them. Thanks for the link.
