Some good rap songs *somewhat recent*

yeah, as a 90's grunge and 70's stoner rock fan...my rap is almost nothing. I would like to invest in getting some good rap songs, here is what I mean by good.

My roommate introduced me to 36mafia (who run it) which I like, and some project pat. I like rap with good beats and good lyrics. 50 cent and shit like that I do not want. Please recommend some new songs or artists for me. I do not biggie/tupac/snoop/ or dre. I had enough of that shit already

I tend to like more intelligent lyricists and virtually every guy or group is incredibly intelligent(in the book sense as well as street sense of the word) so besides good beats you'll hear a LOT of good lyrics in those albums. I also was going to suggest albums because I could literally pick at least 6-7 songs off each album I love, so it just saves you and I some times. Get the albums!

Try The Streets... Before I heard some of their stuff I never listened to rap at all. I pretty much listened to the exact same stuff as you (70's stoner rock at least). The Streets is rappish, but some of their stuff is hard to put into a genre. It's fun hearing British people rap as well :X. Check out these songs though...
