I can give you 5 both ways, I had this discussion with some friends earlier today...

Actors, in no order: John Cusack, Bruce Campbell, Christopher Walken, Benicio Del Toro, Steven Baldwin.

Ok, I hate the Baldwins, but Steven is certifiably in-fucking-sane, and he cracks me up when he goes on his little tyrades. Benicio Del Toro is probably as underrated as you can get in an actor... go watch the Usual Suspects if you've never seen it, he's great. Jack Black, Nicholas Cage(mmm, The Rock is pretty quality) and Jason Statham get honorable mentions.

Actresses, in no order: Natalie Portman, Uma Thurman, Anna Paquain, Julia Roberts, Julianne Moore.

Yeah, so its heavily influenced with hot chicks, deal with it :).

Sure, Michael Douglas is good at only playing the 'same character in every movie' schtick, but he's not the best at it- that award truly belongs to Michael Madsen. From 'Resevoir Dogs' to 'Freewilly' (and everything else he's done) that guy only has one tool on his belt.

Donnie Yen got screwed in Shanghai. Chow Yun Fat got screwed in Corruptor/Replacement Killer. Jackie Chan in basically everything he made in America. Same with Jet Li except I thought Lethal Weapon 4 did him fairly well.

They Bring all these great action stars from Asia, put them in crappy movies, and they say they don't have American appeal.

Crouching Tiger was the only one that was done well but it was subtitled so many people won't see it.

I wish I was a 40 year old producer so I could get Zhang Ziyi D;

Michelle Yeoh I never really liked, even in the Bond movie until I saw Crouching Tiger. I think she's much better as a drama actress than kicking 20 guys in SuperCop 18. She never looked hotter than in Crouching Tiger. ;x

I agree...I was referring to their HK work. Donnie Yen also got killed off way too easily in Blade 2 as well. Jet Li was only good in LW4 because he knew about 3 words of english and spent most of the movie with a "I'm going to effortlessly kick your ass" look on his face.
