a friend of mine is going to take andro and offered to get me some if I wanted to try it out. I was thinking about doing it but I've read mixed reviews...anyone have any experience with it? Also, yes I know how to lift, how to split up my routines, how to eat, I used to lift and I'm getting back into it. is it as bad for you as some sites say that I've been reading?

I think a lot of it is in your mind, my friend was on Andro, he was a linebacker and used it primarily as a rush when working out, and before games to get him pumped. I could work out harder clean than he could on Andro because I believed I could. IMHO all supplements except protein are bullshit and I don't give much credit to anyone that uses them, depending on the person.

That stuff doesn't work. It is all synthetic. I used creatine for a while all it did was make me use the restroom alot. If I were you I wouldn't get into it if I were you. Waste of money , time, and effort.
What does creatine have to do with andro? If creatine didn't work for you it's because you didn't take it properly. Creatine has to work, the Creatine-phosphate is the first energy system used during excercise.
Havok, I'm not fluent in steriods and haven't ever considered using them but i'll try and help. Prohormones are illegal, that being said andro is a precussor to testosterone, to suggest it doesn't work is foolish. Depending on amounts, and how percise your regime (for taking it is) results will vary.
Andro increases free testosterone so side effects are on par with anything else that would result in increaes in testosterone (Baldness, acne, and over the long run risk of cardiovascular disease, gyno, shrinkage, impotence). It's all relative to how much you take, and it moderate amounts it may be okay.
Long term abuse will cause production of natural testosterone to slow or even cease because your body will accomidate and balance the extra testosterone being produced by andro. This is why steriods have to be cycled, when production of natural testosterone slows you can end up impotent, with gyno etc...

Suggesting that is silly, I wouldn't be surprised if most, say 75% or greater of top tier althetes supplement with more then protein. If you think anything but protein is bullshit then you're lying to yourself and haven't done your research. If your andro using friend can't life more then you it's not because 'you believe in yourself' it's because he's weak.

I was thinking of possibly doing 1 3-week cycle, maybe 2 at the most depending on how I feel and what happens. Like I guess theres stuff to take after your cycle to cut the testosterone and higher estrogen levels down so your body balances out faster. I dunno, I'd never really thought of doing "roids" (though technically these arent roids I guess?) but I was thinking of giving this a shot, but most definitely not a long term thing

Ohhh I know it works Merc, I was not discrediting it, I have read about many supplements and their great results. And he was a lot stronger than me, twice my size, but he couldnt workout with the same intensity without it. I was just saying I prefer to know people got where they are through pretty much natural means. Protein, and maybe even some creatine in my eyes is a pretty natural combination, but everything else just seems too far away from the human bodys natural process.

So you're discrediting every world class athlete?

Pretty much :D I think it is amazing accompolishments and they are amazing athletes, but the athletes from before some of the supplements were used acheieved more in my eyes.

whats your height/weight/bf%? what do you mean by 'getting back into it?
are you looking to compete in a bodybuilding or powerlifting competition? or are you just willing to take it to look good on the beach?

no I'm not doing a competition, but I used to lift 4 times a week then I stopped. I'm like 5'9 5'10 weight like 155-160, dunno my bf% but I'm not cut, probably getting high (not really high, though, I dunno how to describe it)...and I'm not doing it to look good on the beach, I don't go to beaches heh, I'm skinnily built and I never gained any size when I lifted for nearly a year straight. I got a bit stronger but I gained no size what so ever, and I just want to get a bit bigger. I don't want to get jacked I'll look foolish lol

Completely off the subject:
Is there something i can purchase to measure my body fat %, if so where would i get something like this/ how much does it cost.
At my gym they have this thing you squeeze and it tells you but i dont want to have to ask the people to use it everytime i want to check it, i did 6 weeks ago when i first started lifting/excercising again it was in between 14-15% and i'd like to check it again, im trying to get under 10%

most people would agree that the basic bf% measuring devices like calipers are pretty innacurate. some people hold body fat in different places then others.
i know a guy who competes and he uses a Tanita BF 682 which is about $85 or so. you can get a BF 680 model for about $50. I had a similar question to yours last year and heres what he had to say. (keep in mind he was contest dieting during this time, hence the low 4% - 7% bf)
"About six weeks ago, I purchased a Tanita BodyFat and Weight scale. I chose one with an "Athlete" mode, which should improve the accuracy. I've been taking measurements several times a day for the past few weeks, to get a sense of how the readings would change throughout the course of the day.
Because these scales determine body fat by sending an electrical current through your body and measuring the time it takes, the reading will depend quite a bit on you hydration level. The more hydrated you are, the easier the current will pass through your body and the lower the BF reading. When you are dehydrated, the current slows down and the BF% reading goes up.
What I have found is that during the course of the day, my BF% reading fluctuates by roughly 2.5-3%. My readings in the morning (as soon as I wake up) are the highest and the ones in the mid afternoon are the lowest, which makes sense when you consider my hydration level. My bodyfat currently ranges from around 4-7% throughout the day. Because the readings are very consistent (I've been doing this for 6 weeks straight), I trust that the reading falls somewhere between 4-7%.
Although it would be nice to know the exact number, that range provides me with enough information to accurately gauge my progress. By keeping an eye on my BF% as my calories and body weight increase, I can determine whether or not my plan is successful. I want to see my lean mass go up with a minimal addition of body fat."

I'm 18, 19 in less than a week. I haven't lifted since last summer, I stopped once I got to school. I had lifted for 7 or 8 months previous to stopping, with no good gains. I had lifted before then as well, but stopped and started again. I was thinking of lifting for a little bit to get my body back into it, then just do one 3 week cycle for a helper and stay off it after that and continue lifting
