I guess I contracted the Nimda virus because I keep getting a message from Norton about "w32.nimda.enc," but then it would said access denied or something so i would guess it didn't do anything. I searched google for a fix or something there were fixes for w3.nimda.a or something not .enc like I have. My friend told me that NIMDA is usually .eml files and that's what it said on the alert filename.eml...so I searched my computer for it and tried to delete it but it won't let me. How do I go about cleaning this out?

Nimda is a server virus. It takes over your network and closes down all network connections. This late in the game theres no hope of ridding it. When it senses one of its files being deleted it mass produces like the virus PE_FUNLOVE. The only solution to stopping it is reformating every computer on your network including the server if you have one.
Sorry to break the bad news.
It probably contracted from the Kazaa networks. Thats where its mostly found.
After you format a computer on your network make sure its unplugged from the lan or it will re-contract the trogan from your LAN.
If its just on your computer reformat.
If you have ghost disks, do a full format and partition of your drive before ghosting as ghost disks dont always completely clean the boot sectors.
