DSL (Hi-Speed Phone Line) tfc rates

I have been on cable internet since like 1998 and have just moved to DSL, my old rates were 20000 and 100 for other 2. Does this change being on DSL now? I have noticed I have loss and a bit of choke at times but im on wireless connection now (i get weak signal strength router, I get as low as 1Mbps) and wasnt before as well. Tonight im going to use an ethernet cable to see if that helps as well.

I play with the same rates on DSL that I did on the LAN at college, and have no problems from it. The main issue I have is that my connection cuts out when it storms, but I think there's something physically wrong with my lines rather than DSL as a whole.

eah my friends get low pings but use a dif company than me. but its about the same as cable, my ping still aint great, although i get to go back to school in a month and have a nice ping.
