While I don't have the ability to make avis, I find myself picking out perfect songs to fit avi's.
A list of some I've compiled:

Sinergy - The Sin Trade (Sinergy are a group basically formed around the Children of Bodom lead guitarist. Fast paced with a catchy beat, killer solo)
Sinergy - Spit On Your Grave (same as above pretty much)
Sinergy - Passage to the Fourth World (same as the other 2 above, only this one has one of the fastest guitar solos I've ever heard)
Ozzy - Desire (nice long opening for credits, breaking into a really heavy riff)
Ozzy - S I N (my fav one on her btw)
Ozzy A V H (Acoustic slide guitar opening, really fast and heavy/catchy riff, some how I picture a bunnyhopping player when I hear this)
Slash's Snake Pit - Mean Bone
Slash's Snake Pit - Serial Killer

I've got about 10 more songs that would be perfect for the end credits sequences of longer avi's. If anyone is putting together an avi and needs some music give me a hollar, I can setup a shoutcast station in about 20 seconds so you can hear these.

Anyone else have any good suggestions?

AVI music isn't really hard to come by in general, the hard part is getting music to match the visual stuff you've got going on... if you're doing a slower paced avi, then slower music suits better etc. Also depends on if you're trying to get a/v synch going on (which vastly improves any avi imho), in which case some songs are better than others due to beat changes and stuff... technically you could take any song and stick it on an avi, but if you want it to be GOOD then you need to get them to mesh or harmonize or whatever ;p
I'd love to see someone do an avi with an instrumental soundtrack and still have it turn out cool, or with jazz or something else unusual.
Or just grab any random new (rock) song and make a tfc music video out of it :)

I think Dry Kill Logic's - Rot, has a lot of potential on an AVI.

Basically anything by Hans Zimmer is pure gold.
Travor Rabins, makes good compelling music, that keeps you on your toes.
Harry Gregson-Williams, is also not bad.

Amen. I love listening to this type of music while playing. Maybe because i was in band from 4th grade to 12th playing the trombone and all the really cool powerfull meledies were mine :D

I think the Portishead song in the "Plain" avi owns all.

I've got 3 CoB CDs, but I think they're over used as far as avis go. Sinergy is much better in my opinion.
