Im almost certain 99% of the people who will read this have no idea who Cartel is. Theyre an indie-rockish band thats fucking amazing. Its a catchy sound, but its good music. They had a 5 song EP called "The Ransom" which, for a 5 song EP, was fucking amazing. The only other band Ive ever listented to with a 5 song EP equally as amazing was Saosin.
Onto this CD: its incredible. They have 1 song from the EP on it, called "Lucky St." and the re-do of the song is good, but whatever. Their other material is amazing. Theres only 2 songs on it that are kind of "downer" and everything is else has a lot of energy to it. Creative guitar work (unless your Palmy and like to criticize bands for not using some obscure Egyptian Penatonic scale), excellent vocals, and an overall solid sound.
For anyone looking to listen to something new thats got rockish type elements to it, this band, and this CD is something you should invest in.
