for a card that certaintly does not support dx9, if i were to upgrade to this, should i expect to see any sort of FPS boost in TFC?

my current system:
dell inspiron 4000 [a notebook]
700mhz p3 mobility
320 meg of SDRAM
20 gig hd [mostly full, lol]
onboard sound
onboard video: ati rage mobility 8 meg

i currently get 30 - 60 fps [locked max at 60]. i drop below 30 sometimes in fire fights, though i recently updated my bios which increased my fps, so it's not as bad a drop as before.

i am just curious if dx9 will offer a performance boost, or not?

edit: and why does my sig say Maizy likes men?

I dont think it would do too much to an onboard video card. What version are u currently running? DX8.1? What OS? and try defragging ur hd to see some performance increase.

i run 8.1. i defrag frequently. i am on winME =[

blek, blek

i just want to know if i will see any performance increase at all, without taking a hit on the resources that would negate that increase.

It's very doubtful that you would see any performance boost at all, not only is that card generations before DX9's time, but TFC isn't a DX9 game by any means, especially if you're running in OpenGL.
