Now i could be completely wrong on how they are added in, but if i am right, i think it is total bullshit, at least in the NFL, and please tell me if i am wrong, but...

i dont like how Post-season stats are not added to totals, i am not saying they should be added to season totals and maybe they should be kept seperate or something but i dont think its fair to players who pile up numbers in the post-season and those numbers are completely forgotten when it comes time for that person to retire, i know their performances in the playoffs are more important but that is still not the whole story

i think of it this way, since the McNabb/Brady debate is hot right now on these forums, if you think of those 2 QB's they have already had many playoff games to their credit and they each are only about halfway through their career, if you think about it, by the time they retire, they probably will have played an extra season at least compared to people on lets say the 49ers or some other shitty team who dont make the playoffs

i know the logic behind it, in that its not fair that these other players dont have the opportunity to make these stats so we shouldnt put them in that kind of disadvantage but i would say the Post-season is where HOF'ers are born to begin with and how much longer could Emmitt Smith ran the ball or Joe Montana throw it if they were allowed to heal an extra 2 months every year and not take the heavy heavy beating of at least 2 extra (usually more in these 2 cases) every year, or even how much longer would my Bills be able to put Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas on the field if they didnt go to 4 straight SB's playing almost a full season more than 2/3's of the teams in the NFL

like i said, i am not saying add it to regular season stats, but i think they should put it on career stats because their body's are still taking the beating but they dont get the credit for their legacy since it isnt their fault that they played on a good team (its like rewarding Peyton Manning for torching teams in the regular season and then tanking in the first round of the playoffs so he doesnt have to worry about his stats) and stats do matter to a person's legacy even if it just to that one person because that is what that person devoted his life to for several odd years and shows they accomplished something

so, if i am wrong and they already do this, sorry for the long post about nothing and i just wasted everybody's time, and i do know they keep track of these stats, i just dont think they put it into consideration enough unless it is a close argument (who is better in the playoffs: player A has more TD's and yards than player B, etc)
