I used to be able to play DoD: Source when ever I wanted I never really played it much, but sometimes when i was bored it was fun... but anyway now when I try to connect to any servers I cannot. Not one single server. I check out what the console says and I get this.

Game.dll loaded for "Day of Defeat"
maxplayers set to 32
Heap: 256.00 Mb
Parsed 145 text messages
execing config.cfg
Can't use cheat cvars in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvars in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
2 CPUs (1 physical), Frequency: 3.0 Ghz, Features: GenuineIntel SSE SSE2 MMX RDTSC CMOV FCMOV
execing valve.rc
--- Missing Vgui material vgui/servers/icon_secure_deny
Network: IP 24.127.200.12, mode MP, dedicated No, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL

Connection failed after 4 retries.

Now I don't use cheats or anything so I'm not even sure why it's saying this line..
"Can't use cheat cvars in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1."

Anyone know what the problem may be?

put it this way... what have you tried so far.. like have you tried deleting all the DoD:S content in your steam folder and reinstalling?

having cheat commands will not make you get kicked from the server. it just ignors them, so that isnt your problem.

Yeah, the cheat cvar messages aren't important (or relevant to the problem) I don't think. It looks like a network connectivity issue. Have you tried just pinging those IP's for the servers you are trying to connect to? Are you behind a school/university network that might be blocking port 27015 outbound? Can you play TFC or other HL/HL2 mods fine still (ie: is the problem restricted to just DOD:S?)

No i'm not in any school/university campus. So thats not the problem.. I can actually connect to any server with any other HL2 and HL Mods, its just DoD that doesn't work... I guess I can try to delete the files for DoD and see if that fixes the problem.. I'll let you guys know.

Ok found out what the problem was... The steam browser for Dod:source is showing some problems where it doesn't filterout DoD the old one... so instead its showing servers for both DoD and DoD:Source.. so i overlooked at the server game type figuring they were all for DoD:Source..therefore I couldn't connect to any of them.. valve sucks.
