Ok...something is jacked up with my tfc. its a lag like ive never seen...i float...yes i float...like im in 500 gravity and everyone else is in normal. people who watch me can actually see me floating too. im not sure if this is a hardware or isp problem. if anyone else has encountered this problem or can help me please share.

Ping while it's happening?
ISP/Connection speed?
Does it happen constantly or only at certain times?

its pretty constant lag...sometimes its ok tho

and i got sbc dsl

Reinstall tfc, you could of contracted a tfc hack program by accident thats making this happen. (i.e. Your cheating and dont know it)

Just back up your configs, maps and custom directories

Yeah, reinstalling should always be the first step in troubleshooting, make sure to either completely remove the original before reinstalling, or install to another directory. Have you tried any other multiplayer games with your current setup? Other HL mods even?

hmmm...hldm seemed to work fine...also i discovered the higher i run my fps, the more "floaty" i am...100 fps is like ultra floating while 60 is just moonwalking...and i have reeinstalled the game and it still does it...also...the problem exist in opengl, direct 3d, and software so im stumped

Perhaps if you provide a demo we could determine if its a visual issue, or lag/system. It could possibly be that it just *looks* like that you're moving that way.

Just a thought.

Ok, i did the suggested and recorded a demo. When i play the demo back everything appears fine...but when i play i float (i only float on internet games...lan games are fine). I geuss ill never be able to play :'o. I've tried ever possible combination of rate, updaterate, cmdrate ect ect. :(

sry if im being annoying...just want to play tfc again

dude, the madness!
I had that happen to me once, it was trippy... like playing in slow motion, it was great, and it was on openfire too ;p
next time I started tfc up though it was gone :\
if someone figures out how to fix or toggle this, we might have a new "hack" on our hands ;p

dude, you should make an avi of that. that was funny as hell. I like when you were walking around and jumping, almost like you were going over speedbumps and when you died and going face down, that was hilarious.
