key problem

When i play any other game besides HL, like bf1942, when i hold down a key and move it gets really choppy, but if im not holding a key its fine...whats the problem? how can i fix it?

If you have access to one, try swapping the keyboard with another. I used to have this problem with my old mouse, at certain points it would start to lag and I would have to unplug and replug the thing in, happened after I had had it for 3 years or so, it was just plain dying. I've heard problems similar to yours and it just turned out to be that the device was malfunctioning/dying.
