NA Tourney Week 1

Just wanted to know how everyone's experience went. I heard that some clans were not able to field a team and some were. Anyone find out their team sucks/kicks ass. My team lost both rounds but I had fun.

yeah my team only had like 5 people show up. I don't know how to fix that problem of people not showing up... maybe our captain shouldve only picked people he knew that and or would show up. Still I think the NAT wasn't a success the first week. How many teams fielded a full team how many didn't?

I think 9 of the 12 matches were played, and some of the matches have till tuesday night to be completed, so reschedualing is possible.

My team S1's captain had to work but we were able to field 7 for rd1 and 6 for rd2. We played 7v6 rd1 and 6v6 rd2 winning 140-10 and 60-0
We had a great time.

EDIT: Also wheaties was very helpfull in getting us hooked up with a server.

i think if the same team forfeits again, they should disband that team and add it in with another team that has problems fielding 9. Otherwise this thing wont last for long with forfeits happening often.

considering you beat us overall by one cap (schtop 3-3, nyx 7-6) i think it is safe to reason out that a low level hw ringer would have made all the difference in the match

edit: anyhow i enjoyed my round of nyx and OvOing killian and SE :)

Overall score did not impact the outcome of the dispute. It's very clear that ringers are not allowed in the tournament. And subsequently his team was stripped of their win. Next time could mean dismissal from the tournament.

it was more of a misunderstanding of the subbing rule than anything. And me just trying to get the match going, I did not try and sneak one past the admins or anything. People on the other team said they couldnt reschedule and just get 1 player(since we were only short 1). So when I found someone who would help us out I just gave the server info and headed in(since we were late). I thought it would be alright since I thought he was a "sub" but it turns out he was a "ringer". Anyway it was all my fault and I already applogized. Thats about it on that....I know Wheaties has put A LOT into this and I'm sorry I just caused you more grief.

On a side note for Jarek's comment about Token being a good HW. We have Diablo on our roster, if he was there the result would've been similar.

My team and Decap's team agreed to play a round tonight after tfl and a round monday after sta. Decap was very nice about this since he had 8 players there and my team only 5/6. I think the times we figured out for a round each make a lot of sense and I'd like to continue with that sched for whoever we play as long as my team fields tonight and mon which we should!

everything worked out like a charm for my team.. i was wanting my crew to show up at 8pm est so we could set up whos doing what and playing where.. i know it seems early but if i would of said 8:30 people would show up at 9, but we got 13 people at 9est.. i let a few people play what they wanted to play. but i knew what majority of them played so they got to play thier class.
9:30 came a head and i never got a pm from leader but good thing i was idling in thier channel for about an hr ahead cuz thier leader was just getting around at 9pm and spamming the ip and pass to the pub channel.. well we join thier server at 9:35 and began match..

Kaleb is a little slow eh? for the 10,000th time, you can shedual matches for whatever day you want. It's being run well, and the structure is as good as possible. Also I had a lot of fun in IDL the first go around. 9 of 12 matches were played on the first day of schedualing, pretty good turnout sofar.

It's set as Default time because it's the most open day of the week. Name one other day that doesnt have crap running around it.

Monday - STA 9v9: not gonna work
Tuesday - STA 5v5: lots of people play this
Thursday - TFL 9v9: not gonna work
Friday/Saturday : uh, yeah right
Sunday: ADL lots of people play this.


So it sucks that your schedule blows, but it's not the format or the league's fault. I think 9/12 (with 2 matches successfully reschedued so that's 11/12) is pretty good. And to be short 1-2 players is nothing. That's still pretty successfull. I know you want it to fail but I don't so.....yeah.

I know a few others aside from myself that weren't around when this whole NA tourney started up. By the time I got wind of it, it was apparently too late to be selected for a team. I pm'd Wheaties (that's what the site told me to do) but never got a reply. I don't want to step on any toes or have any strings pulled for me to play, but if teams are struggling this badly to field the required amount, why not make some exceptions for those that weren't around or available when the draft was taking place.

Fold the teams who forfieted this week and draft the player that showed for those teams to thier appropriate divisions. Inactive teams will single-handedly kill this thing, it's happened with 2 or 3 leagues in the past year alone.
