I am using a HP a500n at work and I reformatted the drive to remove all of the factory preset programs and settings. The only thing left is the bootup screen. On most computers the bootup screen has a ram checker and IDE device search screen. Mine doesn't, it is just a blue screen with the HP logo and options to (esc) manage BIOS settings and (F10) system recovery. Is there a way I can remove this stupid screen so that the normal bootup screen will appear? I could not find an option to do this in msconfig, gpedit.msc, regedit or the BIOS screen.

check the bios for a setting called, 'quick startup'.. if that is enabled, on most computers, it just puts the company logo up on the screen. if it is disabled, then you will get the drives/devices screen like normal..

Thanks! That worked. It was called "enable diagnostics"... and I had no clue what that was.
