Securing a wireless network? Please help.

I just received my d-link gaming router and was wondering what are the best ways to secure a wireless network? Please help and thank-you for your time.

You can enable WEP or WPA and/or mac address filtering. You can also not broadcast your SSID as well so it won't show up on the wireless network list thing.

and don't pick a lame password. use something like

wpa or wpa2 should be fine. anyone with the right tools can crack or get around anything else. make sure you pick a strong password though. bonus points if it's a 63 character random.
