Do they always predict this far ahead

"Estimated Ship Date: Monday, April 03, 2006"

I ordered at 5.45 a.m. today and paid for next day shipment (Monday?) All items are set to ship within 24 hours and are items that would not be out of stock often.

Is this just precaution? Because I will demand my fucking $20 and more back if they expect me to wait half a month for shipping.

Last time I complained to Dell they gave me a $75 coupon, hmmm I wonder what I get for the second time lol?

if you customize a system generally there is a lead time. you really think they build it the day you order it?

at least they didnt do to you what they do to most people. tell you to anticipate having it later this week, then sending you an email saying its delayed for another week and a half. looks like theyve finally started using some honest business practices maybe?

It is not a PC:

20% off the 20D with an oline coupon I found, got all of this for cheaper than I would have the 20D alone from anywhere else.

1 2 GB CompactFlash Card $74.99
1 EOS 20D DIGITAL CAMERA - BODY ONLY $1,039.20
1 BG-E2 Vertical Battery Grip 20d $169.95

i dunno
i got one 3 months ago and got the printer in a week, the computer in 2 weeks. Free shipping is not recommended

Maybe they just cover their asses now by giving you a long ass waiting period.

when i ordered my laptop they estimated the ship date to be that long as well. but i got it in less than a week. i got the 3-5 day shipping and what they said was that it was 3-5 day from the time they send it out not from when the order is process because it takes time to build it and stuff and that could have taken up to 2 weeks or whatever. but my order was a laptop, yours isn't. so i don't really know why the long estimate. either way i got it in less than a week so chances are you'll get it early too...at least i would think so

you motherfucking ho... you got the 20d. fuck you!

I want the 350d and I might buy it maybe next month. Saving money for a lens for it too. Probably that canon 17-85mm IS goodness. you know the one I mean.

edit: what is this 20% off coupon you speak of?

I've gotten a laptop from Dell a few days before their estimated ship date. It all depends on how much demand there is.

I was going to get the 5D, but I need an Laptop for school next year, and the 20D will be better for sports than the 5D would have, I couldn't pass up this deal or I would have gotten a 30D and waited.

www.techbargains.com (Check Spelling) and then click on the deals button on the main page, find the 20% off code for dell, login to your account, add to cart, and then apply coupon.

Still thinking about keeping my EOS 3 also, it's such a ripping fucking camera, build quality, focusing, accuracy, I love it. But that 400-600 dollars could go to good use on a Peleng 8mm and some other things.

thanks guys it appears they cover their ass now more than when I dealt with them in the past, hence my dislike of that long shipping date as I was not used to big projections from them.

thanks VP. Unless some incredible deal comes up I'm just going to wait and look to buy from somebody who doesn't charge state sales tax. That basically kills any discount from dell.... and it's not like they're low-cost to start with.

The 30d looks nice, but money's a little tight, and for the differences between it and the 350d, well, I'm sure I'll be happy with a cheaper (albeit still awesome) camera and 600 dollars worth of toys for it.

My Laptop was estimated to get here on the 16th, and i got it on the 9th. I was very happy with the shipping because i got it for free and it was way faster then what they said it was. I think they usually just give these shitty ship dates to cover there ass if they have any screw ups. Also, it makes them look very good when you get it way before the ship date.

It will be a great camera for you. Might even get a vertical grip for it to make it easier to handle, and allow vertical shutter release, etc. The new lens you mentioned looks nice, but it's an EFS non L lens for over $1,000? I hope the build quality is not like the consumer zooms for $1,000, I was thinking like $600 was reasonable. Bastards, I want one also. But I'll opt out.

This is the lens I'm talking about. Street price is $600, but I've seen it as low as $500 in places.
