new comp = bhop difference?

when i go to my friends house and load my configs and scripts onto his computer and try to play, i'm slower. i can't bhop as fast as on my computer, it just won't let me get up to speed. i do the same exact thign with the same exact configs and i've tweaked the sensitvity to as exact to mine as i can get and still i go slow as a turtle. neone know whats wrong?

u are going the same speed, but im guessing he is running at a different fps, maybe on a dif connection, and has other different hardawre than urs? The basics of bhopping (the strafe and mouse movements) are always the same, but the rate at which u send those commands, and how well his computer shows how u display those, it might make a difference.

hmm, that makes sense, i will play with it ty , he does run 40 fps lower with a win2k instaed of my xp

Maybe it just feels slower. Download sparky or nemesis and check how fast you're going on the speedometer.

i can get like 560 on a flag surface bhopping ;/ also, doing the exact same routine i use on my comp, i can't ramp slide, i'm always short, where when i do the same thing on my comp, i can hit the top of fr lol..

lower fps will slow your bhop

i played on my friends machine, and he hadnt disabled the fps lock, so it was stuck at 60. the whole game felt slow as ass.

i had this problem with win2k awhile ago and it had to do with the fps_modem setting.

heh i felt a big difference when i transfered from my pci 18-24 fps vid card to the 85 i have now on a fast machine.

ive been playing on a pos comp with a 8 fps for along time, and it did feel like i was trying to run in water, but when i switched to new comp and now i get 100 fps it feels really fast and bhop is really easy now, dont lag up every second

Yes with my 10-25 fps machine and the occasional overheating of the comp freezes my machine, my game is inconsistant ;D

Bhopping/Playing in general is easier with 100 fps.

vsync = slow bhop. I think slow fps in general makes you slower

also.. check the fov.. as I have been fov 110 "appears" to be much faster then fov 90.

What xero is describing is indeed from vsync being enabled. With vsync disabled, your vid card continues to draw frames without waiting for your monitor to catch up, which causes "tearing". Over time you become accustomed to it, and learn to compensate for it. When I enabled vsync again, I thought everything was slower, and it was very hard to bhop, but after a while I adjusted, and overall my TFC is MUCH smoother than before. It helped my bhopping after a while, but it took some time... its really just a preference.

its a matter of vsync(and how many fps u get) and fov(higher the fov the faster it feels your going, lower vice-versa).

lol, it only seems faster cause are more zoomed out then you would be default "90" you arent going any faster than you would in 90

I'm assuming since he copied all his "scripts and configs" over, his fov would be the same... low FPS will completely own your bhop if you're used to higher fps...
I set my fps to 30 to make an avi once, and forgot to set it back to 100 before the match I had the next day, and I couln't bhop worth anything :\
