My grandma died before I got into photography, I have no personal photos of her, I don't want to ever let that happen again. This is her husband, my grandpa Herschel Jones, aka Butch. If you want a better understanding of him listen to "Rapid Roy" by Jim Croce.
Memories people, moments and fucking memories
watching coffee progress into that timeless moment, that timeless memory, someday I will have children, and I can tell them the stories about this man, how he made the front page of the paper one night under the headline "Local man evades police in spiderman like fashion: leaping from rooftop to rooftop eventually swinging to the ground from a three story building on a christmas decoration" or racing at the old dirt track every weekend, or maybe the time he was cut off by a person fleeing from the cops so he proceded to chase that guy down, out manuevering the cop cars following the criminal and spinning the guys car out. Memories guys, that's what everything is about, not expensive lenses, not having the best camera, or even the most technically perfect photo, everything is a memory whether a shapshot or a well executed photograph. Cherish the times you have with someone and then remember the times you had when they are gone.
