from what I've read, FF bhopping will be identical to _special bhopping in TFC. Assuming we will all be playing FF, doesn't it make sense to not ban _special then in TFC? Maybe this is a really shitty argument, I haven't really thought it through.

Yeah, like others are saying, that sounds exactly like quake 3 bhopping, which is insanely easy, it takes about 10 minutes to learn and maybe another half hour to learn to gain and control your speed.

I actually used to use _special for a few months and it was fun as hell bhopping. When leagues banned it I stopped using it though.
I still use a script to bhop (the jump, wait, jump, wait thingy) and I can bhop as well now as I could when I used _special.

Jumping at the right time is easier in FF than in TFC. In FF, if you press your jump key at any time after your peak but before you land, you'll jump right as you hit the ground.

You're almost as ignorant as you are naive.

The only way Valve would have done anything about _special is if _special was being used heavily in CS 1.6 to exploit the engine (yes, it's an engine exploit regardless of whether it's a script or not). _special tricks the engine into doing something it was not intended to do, providing means to perform tasks which are virtually impossible with other scripts. The only way to mimic (I say mimic because its impossible to reproduce) _special is through hooking the engine via an opengl32.dll or custom injecting hook.

You ask who cares about _special, well clearly 90% of the world wide TFC community did, hence why it's banned.

To what you are talking about, all it does is have a key and virtually map it to another. The other key would be bound to +jump. It just spams it the other key continuously which inturn would make HL think you are spamming your +jump key over and over, and no this is not legal to use leagues.

Prior to the ban of _special bunnyhop, the script was posted EVERYWHERE. Clan sites, communities, etc.
