Xerred Demm Madness Brackets

I figured I'd start a new post for this just because the other one got a bit long and I wanted to make sure everyone knew that the brackets were up.

Anyway, there were 37 legal entries into the tourney, so the bottom right part of the bracket is a bit odd. What i did was i took the first 32 players and stuck them in. if you fell into the group of the last 5, you will have to play your way into round 1 by beating your opponent (highlighted those matches in red). It was all done on a first come/first serve basis so as not to cause any problems and no favorites were played whatsoever.

MAKE SURE YOU READ THE RULES/FOLLOW SUBMISSION GUIDELINES. If you don’t, I may go ahead and disqualify you if putting up with you is more hassle than its worth. I’m not here to babysit so keep the whining to a minimum please.

Your match must be played by the date at the top under each round, which gives you a full week to find your opponent and schedule to play the match. If both of you fail to contact each other, catch me in IRC in #xerreddemm and I’ll handle it accordingly based on the attempts that were made.

If you are in the select 10 people who have to qualify for round one, you have no extension, so you have to play both the qualifying match as well as the first round match during the first week given under the Round 1 title. If you fail to qualify, I will randomly pick people to take those positions with no questions asked no later than Tuesday, April 18.

I’ve also made a player listing that you can look at which includes Steam IDs as well as contact e-mails in case you can’t find them in IRC #xerreddemm so that you can schedule your matches.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR A SERVER, CHECKING THE BRACKET TO MAKE SURE ITS UPDATED, AND SUBMITTING SCORES ON TIME. I can't stress this enough, because without your help in making this run smoothly, it just plain wont...

How do I find out when/who wins the defiant VS Nazgul match?

after the match is played and there is a winner who submits the score, it will be posted. the site where all the info is on has a little news thing at the top where i will post news relevant to the tournament, when the first round is up, second round, etc. if you look at the brackets under where it says the round name (such as round 1, round 2, final four, etc) it has a date. that date is the last date to play your matches for that given round before a forfeit is issued.

i'd like to remind people who are in the tourney to stay in #xerreddemm using the name they signed up in the tourney so that people can find you. i'm getting some complaints about people not being found (even though i provided a player listing as well so you can e-mail them) but i also clearly put in the rules that you should idle in the channel so you're easy to find. if a forfeit comes up because of miscommunication, i will award the person who was in the channel the win because they followed the rules.

Ok, so i'm being told that there are known banned hackers on the bracket, but i don't know who they are because i don't follow the whole cheaters thing and when i run the steam IDs through the player tracker they all turn up fine. Can someone who DOES know and is in the know about all this tell me which people are banned from leagues so that i can automatically DQ them from the tourney? I appreciate any help that is offered in this.

If the player you are checking is not currently rostered in any clan, then you wont get any results. However, it will return any ban entries for cheating.

Yeah, Occidio was one of the people who I was told about, as well as some of the others posted in this thread. What i'm going to do when I get home tonight is rework the bracket and extend the first round through next week to accomodate for the changes. I'll remove the banned players and reinstate the 5 that were the last ones to join and force the outside-rd1 matches into the regular rotation.

You'll notice Dannon is banned under the alias Syntex in TFL 6/29/2004 for wallhack & anticonc. Now I took the banned steam id: 0:1:3141604 and compared it to -[MoC]-Dannon's recent steam id: 0:1:4711693
If you check the links below, you will see these two steam id's are owned by the same person. Therefor mr. man is right now playing in a league he is banned from. Oh I'm good :P

No, I think dannon has been cleared as far as not being Syntex. He's actually MyN, no idea what clans he used to be in. As far as him being clean though, I don't know. I've seen him do some really, really questionable shit in pubs, and I'm not the only one by a large margin, but he continues to play in leagues.

Well, what's going to end up happening is that I'll probably get rid of people who hack or are highly suspicious of hacking just to not take any chances. either way, in a soldier DM tourney, i don't think hackers would do that well unless its an autoaim hack which would only really serve purpose when using the shotty, but in that case it wouldn't be too hard to tell if they are shooting their shotgun more than their RPG. i'm not going to get all crazy about this and start a huge witch hunt because i think the better players will prevail either way, but i do not want the whole tournament to be plagued with hackers.

if i remove you, this is the reason why so don't come to me on IRC asking. I will not handle huge talks about how innocent you are and all that, and if you have a very short history then you probably will be removed as well.

TFL has not removed the Ban however.

It seems there is alot of evidence that proves Dannon is Myn, but at the same time there are a few hard facts that link dannon and Syntex as one and the same. It's not suprising both leagues didn't come to the same conclusion. What I find most disturbing is not once did Dannon respond to any of the threads to clear his name. Anyways, I think Dannon is an enigma ;)

yeah i saw the score, and in the first round i know darkreign and demonz had a really good match too as i watched it go down to the wire. if only everyone participated that signed up this would have been an even better tournament.

It's shitty attempts at sarcasm, such as this, that ruined this game. People actually put effort into being funny and meaningful. Get some new material, this watered down shit is done.

The tournament, although short-lived, for the most part has been well put together. Kastro has done a great job keeping it afloat and very well organized.

As far as suggestions go, Kastro, you may want to consider (for your next tournament project) having preliminary rounds before actually starting the tournament. This might weed out the determined from the half-ass interested. You might find less disqualifications/forfeits and a more productive tourney.

I know peoples' outlook on guilds has pretty much fizzled out, but there are a plenty of people who still show interest.

I like to look at things from all angles and taking you into prospective, a player who has been playing this game for 7 years, and probably someone who thinks of them self as really good is fair enough, but when you were whipped, by yours truly 40-5, you were probably contemplating retirement. So I do respect your opinion and the way you responded to my quote, even though you and half of ae probably currently hack, but it really doesnt matter. Please stop with the excuses because a personal demo could easily prove innocense. I'd gladly mulch any of you bums.

I'm sorry, but your outlook on cheating is completely flawed. Cheating on console (single-player) games as opposed to doing it online against other players are two totally different things. Yes, I've cheated on Mortal Kombat.....A+B+A+C+A+B+B. The blood code. I didn't use God Mode. Why? Because the game would become pointless. Why cheat to make the game easier? You aren't praised for it. You don't gain financial fortunes. It isn't fun, or wouldn't seem that way.

You've yet to give me ample reasoning as to how & why cheating online is the least bit fun. Yes, it's a fucking game. Which makes cheaters (probably you included) sound even more dumb than before.
