5th division in sta?

i think there should be another div between silver and bronze... there are a fair amount of teams that are in bronze that rape but cant cut it in silver

and there are a fair amount of teams in silver that cant quit cut it in silver... but again will rape bronze

This would probably involve bringing platinum back.. which I doubt will ever happen again in tfc.

there isent enough gold talent to bring back plat... thats why im saying... shove a div between bronze and silver ... shove the bottom feeders from silver down to it and bump up the sandbaggers from bronze

Theres only like... 12 teams in each silver and bronze... if another division was added you would have the same 8 teams playing each other over and over...

i agree with a new division. it would be somewhat more competitive to a number of teams.

no matter how many times they put barriers between skill levels, one thing still remains: it's impossible to split any league in to a perfect divsion of clan skill. The same thing happens for Lower Gold and Top Silver teams, the same thing happens for Lower Silver and Top Bronze teams. The same thing happens for Lower Bronze teams and Top Copper teams. OK ya get my point...... every division will have a couple clans not capable of beating 80-90% of the clans in the division. There wouldn't be a bottom portion of the division if nobody did.

The real solution is to remove divisions all together and match clans according to rank. Everyone is ranked like OGL was by number, then you won't be scheduled with a clan maybe +5 or -5 ranks from your current position. Who really cares about the mid-division titles anymore? They mean nothing. If people could look past a silly md-level title then you would see a single ladder would provide the best competition possible. You will always be around clans ranked similar to you and if your clan does get better, you will go up and player clans in your skill range.

but that ogl style never really appealed to me... if sta/tfl could make it work... well the same teams would always win...

say ed goes on a hot steak and beats uk mxvidcie ( w/e) dex and some other lower skil teams... then they face a team like ae.... then what happens... an obvious win for the better team.....

0day those clans would be seperated by over 40 ranks...... it would take quite awhile before ed would ever make it close to the top 10 ranks. ogl scheduling sucked but their ladder was VERY accurate in representation of where the skill level was

The problem with the ladder system is when those Gold clans reform 3 times a month and get put against copper clans...wouldn't be fun to be a lower level clan because a third of your matches would be against teams way way better than you.

They could do a smart ladder. Admins could place teams on the ladder spot based on what skill they perceive the team as. Of course, they would error on the side of caution with this method.

i have a lot more time and i used to admin a couple laders in STA-5v5 so i know their format.
so if theyre thinking about it i'll help them out getting it running.

no, what we all need, is one giant ladder, like OGL, with a challenge system.

search threads about it, still have set match times/days, and maps, just run the challenge mode again.

as for the bronze clans that just 'rape' they go up and down.. KHR being one of them.
