I chose Nintendo's Wii because I've always been a hardcore fan of Nintendo and the Zelda series. Plus, the peripherals and sensors that the Wii will implement are really appealing. Not to mention being able to play Gamecube, NES, and SNES games on it. Yum.

should add a "I'm buying both" option

I will probably start with the Wii because of the price and the crazy upcoming titles.

edit: Just got linked to this video, it doesn't deserve its own thread but i guess it fits here.

depending on when my parents punk out or when i stumble across the money, i'll probably get a ps3 first.

I'm still a big playstation fan for the fighting games and RPGS.

However, I will eventually get a Wii, so if they have killer launch titles, i might get it first.

Either way, if NEITHER system has killer launch titles (which I doubt they will, imo) I'm just gunna wait, cause the ps2 is supposed to be good for 5 more years , like the PS was when the ps2 released.

And since all this is supposed to be goin down this year (or early next year, i think), aint no way i'ma through with the ps2 games I'm still waitin for this year.

Most likely both for me. Will probably wait on the PS3 though, until that price comes down a bit.

I'm with Nintendo all the Wii

SEE WHAT I DID THERE WITH THE JOKESZ?!

anyway like i've said before, nintendo has earned my loyalty over the years. Hell, I kept my SNES longer than any other system (PSX, N64, NES, Gameboy, Game Gear...i think you get the picture)

Still have my gamecube, but if the Wii makes the GC obsolete, I may just have to trade it in for credit or at a pawn shop.

I'll be waiting to see what things looks like when all 3 next gen consoles are out. I'll probably get the Wii first and let the price of the PS3 come down and see if I want to get the PS3 or the Xbox360 depending on the games.

I'll base it on the games they have on release + upcoming titles that year. If they seem about the same I'll get the Wii since I always went with Nintendo first in the past then wait a year to get PS3 when price drops.

Both. If I only have enough for one I'd most likely choose wii.

I'll get both, probably the Wii first because of Zelda (assuming it's a launch title).

E3 2006 Nintendo Wii line. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGlvLQzvJNA)ROFL at that mess! Tycho fr Penny Arcade dedicated two paragraphs to that line yesterday...

I'd love to say that one of those things was the Wii, but you need to understand that even if you wait in the longest line of E3, investing more than an hour in a kind of convention stasis, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get your hands on the system. This is because once you have emerged from the initial line, what we might call Line Alpha, you enter another circular line. And once this deadly spiral has ejected you into their inner sanctum, you enter a series of short living rooms that have no real mechanism for determining play primacy, and beyond them is a room that I initially thought was a simulation of the L.A. Riots, but it's just a cloud of Nintendo acolytes in the house of their Lord.

These are lines of a sort, the way that the tangle of cables behind your entertainment center must have represented "lines" at one point, connecting one chunk of equipment to the next. What I am saying is that there is nothing here at E3 that commands this level of devotion. I've heard reviews which run the ragged width of human expression, but from where I sit it is the concept that dominates the discourse. The two games I mentioned before are both for 360, but conversation never rests on them for long. I'm devoting the entire last day to that line, so I should have something definitive to tell you come Monday.

I'm pretty optimistic about the Wii, although I obviously want to play around with one for an hour or two before getting my hopes up any further. Judging from most people's reactions at E3 though, I'll probably be getting one. The PS3, on the other hand, I'll definitely be skipping. Metal Gear Solid, regardless of how awesome it may be, is clearly not worth 600 freakin' dollars for the console + game cost + lots of tax. If Sony busts out a bunch of amazing PS3 exclusive games and drops the price in a year or two, I might pick one up at that point. Until then, you'd have to be crazy rich (or just plain crazy) to pick one up with the intention of actually keeping it and not ebay whoring it. I just hope the Wii doesn't suck.

ill just wait til halo 3 comes out and xbox360 price goes down and get it. I've always been a PS fan but there aren't any titles that I'm really excited about.

I'll probably get Wii first just because the price will be way lower and because of what Sony announced about their 20GB and 60GB PS3's.

''Sony has today cleared up the confusion over the differences in specification between the two models of PlayStation 3 - and the cheaper version won't support wireless controllers.

As announced by the company on Monday, two versions of PS3 will be available at launch - one with a 60GB hard drive, and a less pricy model that features a 20GB hard drive. However, what the company didn't mention at the time is that the 20GB machine also lacks a number of key features that are included as standard in the more expensive model.

The 20GB console won't include an HDMI output, which means that it won't be able to deliver high definition pictures. But perhaps more disappointing is that wireless bluetooth controllers won't be supported; instead, gamers will have to make do with retro-style wired-up versions of the increasingly controversial PS3 pad''

Stupid Sony >.<

As much as I would like a ps3 for the rpgs, 600$ is stupidly expensive (apparently the 500$ version is gimped hardcore, and you cant upgrade or something)

So I guess its a wii, hopefully nintendo will get some good rpgs out there.
