"Parma, OH -- The City of Parma has created a unique twist on the popular "Do-Not-Call List."

It's the first city in the US to propose a "Do-Not-Knock" registry.

Salespeople who come uninvited to a home with the "Do Not Knock" sticker in the window could get a $1,000 fine and up to six months in jail.

Mayor Dean DePiero says the idea is to know who's canvassing Parma neighborhoods, and to add a new layer of protection for seniors."

My boss owns the Arabica coffee shop in Parma. I'm sure he'll mention it next time I see him since he is around the area all the time. I wonder if the bill applies to Jehova's Witnesses. That would fucking rule.

the only time i ever get asked to buy something is little kids trying to sell pizza hut coupons for their school or something, with their "IT PAYS FOR ITSELF AFTER JUST TWO PIZZAS" pitch line. I feel bad turning away little kids but hey, pizza hut is some nasty shit.

I've only had to fend off jehova's witnesses once, and all i did was tell them "give me the pamphlet and i'll read it, just let me decide on my own". The whole situation from opening the door to closing took about 20 seconds; 30 if you count walking to the trash can and throwing the pamphlet away.
